President Obama plans to bring his family to the launch of the space shuttle Endeavour on April 29 to see Rep. Gabrielle Giffords's husband lead six astronauts into space.
Giffords wrote on Twitter: "We are very happy that Pres. Obama is coming to Mark's launch! This historic mission will be Endeavour's final flight."
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Obama decided to attend for a few reasons, one of which was that he was going to be in the state already to speak at Miami Dade College's

I hate to say this but I hope his sports curse doesn’t transfer to NASA.
LLS
The 0bama curse was the first thing that popped into my mind. With him announcing he’ll be there we can now be assured there’ll be a problem. Hopefully just a delay or a weather issue and not a catastrophic event.
Obama finds himself presiding over the end of a lot of things in the great country.
The Emperor applauding the end of American leadership in space.
It’s extremely difficult to get tickets for this event. They trade over the internet for a price approaching $1000. I wonder how many Obama’s entourage consumed.
Yessir....agree !
Stay Safe !
sure does and I don’t buy it.
Expect speechifying on civility and name calling. Then he will go back to being uncivil and calling opponents names.
The last flight...Thank you Pres. Obama.
I’m afraid so....The Giffords are now roman pillars in the campaign. Screw the family of the 9 year old girl andf the others who DIED!!!!!
This is chilling news-Obama at the launch. Everything he has turned his attention to for the past 2 years has been a disaster or blown sky high. He is a Jonah and may jinx the launch or rest of the mission. If I was on this crew, I’d develop a bad ear infection soon to get off the roster. I hope I’m wrong as I love the space program and the heroes involved in all aspects of it.
He’s hoping it will crash. I am not kidding you. He wanted to be there when the Challenger blew up. It’s like Clinton being upset 9/11 happened on Bush’s watch. F’ing vulture.
Sorry I teased you the other day about posting from Politico44...I like you.
My first thoughts were along the same lines. If I were Giffords, I wouldn’t be happy about this.
I haven’t been following Gifford’s progress. Has she been seen in public yet?
Give him a seat under the thrusters
Hehehe ;) tease away if you wish! I some days wonder why I do post from that place. It is sooooo in the tank for him.
You know some of the people at NASA have had similar thoughts about "new VIP seating".
SUCH UTTER ARROGANCE!
The man child goes to a venue in which he created the layoff of over 5000 jobs either last week or the week before and decides to show up just to rub it in.
