Professor Charles Rice on Obama's 'eligibility'
Renew America ^ | 2/27/2011 | Charles E. Rice

The speculation about President Obama's eligibility goes on and on, with no reliable access to the truth and with no end in sight. It is time for a new approach.

Finally a Notre Dame legal scholar opines on the birther controversy. Perhaps the Ivy League could now chime in on the REPUBLICAN Congress's constitutional mandate to investigate Obama's eligibility!

As disgust with Obama’s presidency increases so will the pressure to remove the impostor. Pressure...pressure and more pressure.

Heard a discussion of the issue on a radio program a few days ago. The speaker speculated that Obama’s mentor was Penny Pritzker, who felt a person with his abilities needed to be in the powerful position he now holds. That “something” was discovered at some point in the process of moving him up the ladder and a decision was made to cover it up.

If it turns out that Obama knew he was ineligible when he campaigned and when he took the oath as President, it could be the biggest political fraud in the history of the world.

Regardless of where he was born, simply the fact that he took the oath of office is in itself the biggest political fraud. A person whose political philosophy is so different, so completely opposite the values expressed by the founders and the Constitution could not take the oath without knowingly lying.

Before the anti-blog pimping, self-appointed overlords jump in, read the article. It is completely reasonable, devoid of fanatic conspiratorialism, and clearly shows the appropriate way for this to be resolved. Whether Congress will actually do its job is another matter altogether.

“As disgust with Obama’s presidency increases so will the pressure to remove the impostor. Pressure...pressure and more pressure.”

If you look at the world of professional sports, you’ll find a very good analog. If your favorite team has a guy that’s a complete jerk, but is very good, the fans will still love him, heck they’ll adore and worship him. The more the team wins, the more the star’s faults will be overlooked.

Now, take that same star, with the same lousy personality, and let his skills decline, or the team start losing, (usually both). The fans will run the a-hole out of town on a rail.

Obama isn’t winning, isn’t performing, and has some personality issues. The public may just turn on this guy.

The American people do not know whether the current President achieved election by misrepresenting, innocently or by fraud, his eligibility for that office. I neither know nor suggest the answer to that question. But it would be a public service for the House of Representatives to employ its authority to determine those facts and to recommend any indicated changes in the law or the Constitution.

This is the obvious reasonable position all politicians should take. To say yes he is or no he isn't without having the facts to determine one way or another is stupid. The pat answer should be...I don't know because the president has refused to release the documents that would show one way or another and I think he should do so now to resolve the question for the American people.

Renew America is a Newt Gingrich organization. If this is his way of hinting that as POTUS he would use Congress to investigate Obama even after he leaves office, then this may be the discreet tactical way of doing it without tipping Obama. Trump is blunt but it triggers immediate reaction from Obama and his powerful protectors. Been seriously looking at Gingrich. His advantage is he left Wash DC to refresh his outlook of the US. Politician who leave Wash DC tend to find themselves not in sync with Main Street America and use that time to re establish that link and result in a more realistic and in touch leader then those who remain in Wash DC.

for those who don’t feel like clicking the link, the jist of the arcticle is that the House should investigate ... excerpt below.

“An investigation into Obama’s eligibility by a committee or subcommittee of the House could have several legitimate objectives, including among others:

1. To ascertain the facts, compelling by subpoena the production of all the available records relevant to Obama’s eligibility, including the complete Hawaiian records of his birth; his passport records to ascertain whether he traveled to Pakistan in 1981 on an American or other passport; the records from Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School to determine whether Obama described himself as a foreign student; and such other records as may be relevant. The disclosure of such information to the public would be an appropriate exercise of Congress’ “informing function.”

2. The consideration of legislation to require candidates for a federal elective office to produce, at an appropriate time, evidence of their eligibility for that office. There is now no federal law or regulation that requires such disclosure.”

3. The consideration of legislation to define the constitutional term, “a natural born Citizen.”

I agree completely and have thought this for a long time. Interest in this fraudster’s con job will rise in direct correlation with (1) the price of gasoline and (2) continuing unemployment.

Take the case of Jimmeh Cahtuh. He was hailed as a President who could bring the country together, a Southerner who was Civil Righteous. Then when everything went kaput even the liberals were saying “When will this little man leave?”

There is no "if" because he did indeed know when he signed his name to SR 511. That committee, along with Chertoff, discussed the TWO US CITIZEN PARENTS issue. So, yes, indeed, he most certainly did know.

Wow! Excellent article. Absolutely outstanding. This is the voice of reason needed for so long on the eligibility issue. Not a hint of conspiracy. No side taken. No conclusions made. Just a suggestion that we don’t know what we don’t know. Therefore, as our directly elected representatives, Congress should investigate our questions and resolve the issue.

At least the report is sober and scholarly, in the traditional sense (which used to be more common in academia than it is found to be today).

Too bad the media does not also conduct their work in such a sober fashion, instead of chasing ratings among those most likely to watch them - the lowest rungs of society, the “masses”.

The power to investigate can be exercised by a House committee provided that the investigation is within that committee's authorization as determined by the House.

We have the majority in the HOUSE now. I just wrote to my NEW Republican Representatve to ask him to start justs such a committee!

From Woodrow Wilsons book Congressional Government and the article written by Dr. Rice: “The only really self-governing people is that people which discusses and interrogates its administration”. {SNIP}”The House of Representatives is an appropriate body to inquire into the facts and legal implications of a President’s disputed eligibility for the office.”

So what are they waiting for? We have been continuously mis-represented and it’s time for that to stop.

Obama will never willingly provide access to the birth certificate. We know that. Don’t you think that if he’s ever forced to legally provide the proper document, that he’s got that issue covered? Then what? Sure it will be 99% fraud, but what if it’s unprovable fraud? My bet is that he’s covered and if the subject is forced.... he wins.

Nice.

The good things is, there isn’t a person out there who wouldn’t accept the truth if the truth were told. Of course that’s if we’re talking about the people who have questions and it were shown he was born in Hawaii, and didn’t have college documents and others that showed him to be problematic.

This isn’t a ‘go get the Black guy’ moment here. It’s an ‘the American public deserves to know’ moment.

Was Obama born here?
Did he relinquish that citizenship to attend school in S/E Asia?
Did he declare himself to be a foreign national at college?
Did he travel under a foreign passport as an adult?

At the very least, this man swore an oath to protect and defend the U. S. Constitution. Is he living by that oath? Is he qualified to abide by that oath?

Is Obama intent on strengthening the United States, or taking it down?

I’d sure like to to have that confirmed.

First there were the McGovern maniacs. Then there were the Clinton goons. Do we have a foreign national at the helm?

Is this the ultimate terrorism? Yes or no?

I know what my instincts tell me.

He's a typical politician. Which ever way the wind is blowing, that's the side he's on that day. He's a RINO.

Back in the 1980's, when Newt was riding high on the brow of the new, Reaganaut wave of conservatism, Rolling Stone (of all media creatures) reminded us that Newt's first foray into federal politics was to run for Congress in the late Larry McDonald's old Georgia district (based around Marietta, Smyrna, and suburban northwest Atlanta and Cobb County, Georgia -- I lived there at the time).

Incumbent Rep. McDonald, who had been killed by the Soviets in the KAL-007 airliner shootdown near Sakhalin Island that was such a cause notorious, was probably the most conservative member of the Congress, and Rolling Stone had pilloried him in its pages, depicting him as an SS officer in full black-uniform regalia ..... dripping urine from an open fly (they used to think stuff like that is avante-garde and proof positive of their own kewlness and fearlessness in political judgment).

Some of the candidates who ran to succeed McDonald were very conservative, RS reminded us, and won -- whereas Newt, in his very first congressional campaign, ran as a "kinder, gentler" Bushoid "Rockefeller Republican" (the conservative term of art for which, back in the 50's and 60's, was a "Me-Too'er"). And lost.

In later campaigns for that Georgia district's seat, Newt took the lesson and ran as a values conservative, but Rolling Stone's point was, he came to that position by political education, not as his first or basic inclination.

Which is what you said.

Maybe Issa is the guy

Remember that the RNC and the GOP heirarchs (meaning Boehner) and the Party's background-hugging, NWO-promoting overlords in Manhattan and New England are strongly directing the GOP-led Congress's agenda.

I think Boehner, Issa, and the rest are being strongly directed NOT to open the can of worms that is Barack Obama's background, or to fight too effectively against Obamacare, which is a political pre-compromise agreed to three or four years ago, again in the background. Business fiercely wants out from under employee medical expense, and Obamacare is Just Okay with them, if it accomplishes that goal.

Obama is likewise promoting other NWO goals, such as the submergence of U.S. liberty and sovereignty on the one hand, and of the People beneath a massive, suffocating government on the other -- which NWO enthusiasts like ex-President "Poppy" Bush are bound to love.

"Kinder, gentler" always meant, "don't fight too hard for conservative principles". Good advice for temporary, contingent employees of global fascists.

Larry, reading the above statement, whom would you say is eligible to be a POTUS?
