More Smoke and Mirrors from the Obama Magic Show..
This is a transparent ploy to redirect consumer rage over high gas prices
from Obama The Destroyer to the Big Bad Oil Companies.
"Watch closely - At no time do my hands leave my wrists."
What did 0bama do with the results from his debt commission>nothing!
What will 0bama do with the result from this commission>NOTHING
You said it
ahhh but who will investigate Obama???? uhh just where is that Certificate of live birth from?
“let never let a good crisis go to waste” sounds suspiciously like “taking advantage of the American people for short-term gain” - just sayin’
and “Otherwise, by buying gasoline that likely came from imported oil, Americans “are putting money in the pockets of people who do not like us at all,” he said. “ - mebbe my thinking needs to be adjusted, but aren’t we putting money in the pockets of people who do not like us at all with government unions?
That's how I see it, too. Keep in mind the non inflation part of price increases is directly due to uncertainty in the markets due to Libya (and Obama) and the EPA's itch to 'regulate' hydraulic fracturing, a process which has been in use in the oil patch for decades, and especially in the Bakken and Three Forks formations (which are the hottest development in oil in decades). While thousands of wells have been through this vital production enhancing procedure, the only instances of environmental pollution stem not from the process, but from either a surface spill, or in one instance, improper disposal of frac fluids.
State Level regulatory agencies are far better suited to oversee and regulate the process, simply because they are more familliar with the geology of their state.
If the EPA shut down hydraulic fracturing (which they would do all over, to 'study' the 'problem'), it would shut down much of the oil drilling in the US and the Natural Gas fields of the Marcellus and Haynesville shales, for starters.
Four dollar gasoline would be cheap at that point, and within a year a dim and fond memory.
For much of America, the increase in cost of Natural Gas would mean choosing between eating and not freezing to death.
Of course, the usual suspects would try to shift the blame for high prices generated by policy onto the oil industry (the usual Big Oil 'price gouging' babble) and then use that as an excuse to sieze control of the industry, with popular acclaim.
