Dead on, Gov. Sandoval will appoint Congressman (and former Secretary of State) Dean Heller, who has proven to be far more conservative in Congress than I thought he’d be when he barely beat out Sharron Angle (whom I supported) in the 2006 primary.
As for Heller’s House seat, you’re correct that nominating Sharron Angle would unnecessarily jeopardize our hold on the seat, especially since the special election will be held under the current lines, which include large swaths of Clark County within the district. I hope that former state Senator Maurice Washington, who represented Washoe County until he was term-limited out in January and who is at least as conservative as Angle (he’s a minister with a pro-business, small-government mindset), runs for the seat and wins the GOP nomination—he’d be unbeatable in the general. And, as a bonus, he’d join Congressmen Tim Scott and Allen West as a third black conservative Republican in Congress who would help erode the ignorant mindset of so many black voters nationwide that blacks can only be limited Democrats.

Maurice Washington would be a great choice if wants to run. So far, I’ve seen no evidence that he’s interested in the job.

The good news is that Angle will have to make her case to the local GOP committees (there will be no special primary if Heller moves up), and that’s unlikely to happen. She’d be the only GOP candidate likely to cost us this seat (since she is the KH equivalent in NV). Apparently both Lt Gov Brian Krolicki and Mark Amodei are looking at having a go for the seat, and either one would easily hold it for us.

I really like Sharron Angle and would love for her to take over Heller's Senate seat, but I'm going to have to agree with you on your analysis about how the vote might go. Plus, I have an uneasy feeling that she may get knee-capped by her own party again.

and wins the GOP nomination As I recall, special elections for the House don't have primaries. So it's up to the political class - read Republican committee members or county chairs (in New York state) to pick the Republican nominee. This may be different in Nevada, but generally speaking, House special election are held fast, so it's very helpful if the Tea Party has joined the hierarchy.
And I'm sure you Nevada locals know whether Angle is electable, and who the best electable candidate is.
