Always appreciate - not - the careful referencing of these thugs i.e. “youth”. . .or ‘the teenager’. He will probably be a ‘Gentleman’ before he finishes trial.

This is a judge-friendly article. The well-known local anus Economou knew goddam well that the kid was up for a gun charge and assault.

Furthermore, this little bamanaut had a rap sheet longer than his arm,and a record of psychiatric treatment going back at least 5 years.

All of this would come up on any county computer screen. This kind of bullshiite is what our tax dollars buy. One more thing they should buy is a horsewhip to use on the Economou jerk as he is whipped down the courthouse steps.

The juvenile officer Drorit Erickson sounds like a real piece of work. But I wonder if the atrocities that go on in neighborhoods like this are so rampant, that this kid’s original crime really wasn’t considered a big deal- unless he goes out and kills somebody the next day. I mean, look at the fast food restaurant videos with urban thugs going wild, fighting and beating people with chairs and running over people with cars. You rarely hear about anyone getting charged and, if they do, it’s always for something like misdemeanor battery. Somebody posted a video on Free Republic today where two thug women beat another woman into convulsions. If the cops catch them, I bet they’re charged with misdemeanor attempted murder.

If there is justice, then the judge should hold the prosecutors office in contempt and have some city officials spend some serious jail time for being in contempt of a court order.

People need to be held accountable for their actions.

In this case not being accountable resulted in two deaths. That is pretty serious. I would hope that the mayor or city council will fire people and that relatives of the dead will litigate in civil court for wrongful death.

Government needs to get its act together in protecting the public. In this case the judge did the right thing and people need to be held accountable.

attempted murder should carry the same penalty as murder, just because you were incompetent doesn’t get you off.

Did they ever say why the two tourists were at the housing project at 3 in the morning? Did they get lost?

Ghetto Tours Inc offers the absolute worst times to visit the absolute worst places in America!

They were probably looking for drugs, I would think. Or they got drunk and took a wrong turn or two.

Agree. ..was sickened when I first read about this story, shortly after breaking online. Do wish, they would include - when mentioning these freaking Judges in all these mindless crimes - WHAT PARTY they belong to. Majority, are there because they are Liberals; and suffer; (or rather we do) their absence of moral, critical thinking. It is an outrage.

Hope this provides an impetus for better judgment and real CHANGE; but of course, would not even try to hold my breath on that one.

This is a story; that NEVER, should have been and there is blood, on this Judges hands.

The court recording shows that state juvenile officer Drorit Erickson asked Economou to release Tyson on home detention.

"I did speak to the mom, and he's going to be at my office every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 a.m. to sign in," Erickson said. She added that Tyson would start attending school again.

God Damned Lies.

The Mom testified she had no idea where the killer lived. He has not been in school for years. Has had NO contact with Juvenile Authorities. I am willing to bet that Drorit (sic) Erickson had NO contact with the killer's mother.

I am personally filing a complaint against this Erickson woman. She should be terminated immediately and charged with perjury. Economou is a fool and she is a perjured liar.

Thanks for the PM on the situation in that area.

If it is as bad as you say, I wish you luck in your complaint.

One of the lessons of the holocaust (the cultural revolution in China, the killing fields of Cambodia, parts of Africa, etc.) was that there can come a time when things get so lawless in a place, that it is just time for good people to leave.

I don't want to give up on parts of the USA and hope that we can save our country.

The most recent theory I’ve seen is that they were walking from a bar to a near-by IHOP restaurant when the “youth” kidnapped them at gunpoint and took them to a location ~100 yards from his own home...

April 7 -- 6:40 p.m.b>

Shawn Tyson, police say, shoots at an occupied vehicle, then beats up the driver.

April 7 -- 10 p.m

Tyson, 16, is arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after admitting he fired the gun. He is taken to juvenile jail.

April 8

Tyson appears in court, where a first-appearance judge agrees with prosecutors that Tyson should remain in custody. Saying Tyson has shown a pattern of escalating violence that threatens the community, the judge tells prosecutors to bring a detective to court to illustrate that point when Tyson appears before his trial judge the next week.

April 15

Tyson appears before a second judge, who is urged by a different prosecutor and a probation officer to release Tyson to the custody of his mother, who promised to keep him in her home and under control.

Kudos to you for filing a complaint. If 'sheer ignorance' were a crime; more than a few here, guilty and they should pay the consequences.

As well, given his record, this 'youth' should not have even been in 'Juvenile' Court. (Again; stupid Liberals, guaranteed.) Am wondering too; if recommendations are not written onto 'case info' so that Juvenile Judge would know case assessment and 'full recommendations' per first Judge. Why the reliance on Prosecutor? Much less, his memory; or intentions; or someone else entirely showing up on Prosecutor's behalf. . .

Not just ignorance in evidence here; but as well, an insanity (oh, that Liberal thing again, so I repeat myself). . .on behalf of those who should know better and who unfortunately and pathetically, are entrusted by the Public, for their 'own good'.

This is where the lies began. The Probation Officer's statements are in direct opposition to the mother's testimony.

Ignorance is no excuse as all of this info was a keystroke away on the county site.

Oh, I agree with you. Did not mean 'ignorance' as simple, excusable ignorance. Meant this as absolute unexcuseable, willful/determined - a variation of evil, really - ignorance.
