GOP Kingmakers Wipe Tea PGOP Kingmakers Wipe Tea Party Seats Off Map

Tea party lawmakers are being targeted for elimination by their own party, as old-guard Republicans use the Census-mandated redistricting process to erase seats won by last year’s upstarts, the National Journal reports. House freshmen from several GOP-majority states are in danger of losing out in a political realignment that rewards more connected veteran representatives. It may be cold comfort to tea partyers that the hostile redistricting process proves their point: They really don’t belong to the political establishment.

Do Conservative and Tea Party members need anymore proof the OP(formerly the GOP) never had any intention of accepting Conservative, limited government principles? The OP and the RATs are two factions of one big socialist Republicrat machine who have knowingly and willingly expanded Congress's powers beyond the enumerated powers in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution at the expense of the people's 10th Amendment rights so they can remain in power indefinitely.

It's time for the Tea Party movement to accept the fact they must sever their ties with the OP as they have done with the RATs if we are to ever return to the limited government principles in the Constitution.

Sorry to interject perspective, but this is a Newsmax spin (the headline is preposterous on its face) on an article in National Journal, a very liberal publication. They are inciting, and are sadly being rewarded here, infighting in the Republican Party. If read, this 'article' is very lame, giving one anecdoctal example of district in LA, which has "to give up one congressional seat because of sluggish population growth over the ten-year period counted by the latest Census".

C'Mon Man! We're smarter than this.

The BIG GOVERNMENT GOP PARTY hates upstart conservatives more than democrats.

They have more in common with democrats than they do with the Tea Party and other conservatives.

Democrats just want to run things.

Conservatives want to change the system that keeps them fat and rolling in cash.

That would mean no more skimming, scamming and living high on the taxpayers’ money.

We had 4 years of a “no new taxes, I see a new world order” Bush sr. 8 years majority in the house and senate and 8 years of Junior.. who helped gave us the community organzer and chief. So with this track record, the rinos and the pushing out of the teaparty I say we DONT give them a chance to fix what they wouldnt fix in 20 years if it is true what they say they will do with the tea party. They are sleeping in the same bed and eating from the same trough.

But even in faster-growing states that will hold all their seats, or gain seats, Republicans are eating their young and moving to protect well-connected incumbents over tea partyers.

I'm not sure I believe all of this. Obviously any politician is going to look to improve his re election chances. What else would you expect?

But now if they were to split the tea party candidates district between a Dem and a republican thus helping the both incumbents, then the tea party would naturally move into the republicrats district where he would have a better chance of winning. That would be in states where they are losing seats.

I am not sure what they could do in states where they were gaining seats.
Either way, we have the final say and it is up to us to be aware and vote accordingly.

When political parties aggrandize themselves at the expense of their nation and its people, it’s time to get rid of them.

Is Newsmax usually reliable when it comes to reporting on the GOP, or is it just trying to generate ill-will within the Party for political purposes?

>> I’m not sure I believe all of this. <<

I’m with you. This article could just as easily have been concocted by the Obama administration’s “Ministry of Disinformation” — in order to sow discouragement and dissent among the conservative base.

(And judged by the responses on this thread, too many gullible FReepers seem to be taking the bait.)

It is time for the Tea Party to begin taking over the GOP.

No more patty-cakes.

Take the party over, and throw the corrupt dinosaurs out. No compromise, no “middle ground”. Oust them.

Stand up to the old senile has-beens.

Enough is enough.

However, I’ll need more info before I throw the R over the cliff.

Commie’s would love that.

It seems the local and state country club Pubbies are striking back.

Over the years – when, to steal a line from Billy Joel, I wore a younger man’s clothes – I was involved with several pretty solid conservative candidates for Congress. One was a Democrat (Lawrence Patton McDonald) – because that was the only way he could win in that district. Those old-timers who know Larry’s record will tell you that he was a solid an anti-communist America Firster and more Republican than the Pubbies in nearby districts at the time. (His mother’s cousin was General George Patton from whom he got the middle name – and his incredible resolve and love of this country.)

Those other candidates ran as Republicans. Because I was a rabid Bircher back then (still am philosophically!), those candidates had to pass my rigid litmus test or I went looking for someone who did. For that reason, I hooked up with what the TRADITIONAL country club Pubbie establishment types believed were too radical for their refined tastes.

As those campaigns began to unfold and it became clear to the country clubbers that these guys 1) had a shot and 2) were pretty independent thinkers who would be hard to keep on the reservation once they got sworn in, the local Pubbies communicated that information to the Republican National HQ types who rather quickly sent in campaign “professionals” ostensibly to lock up the impending victory.

Instead, in nearly every case to which I was privy, these “professionals” proceeded to TORPEDO our guy’s campaign in subtle but effective ways.

From that experience I can tell you that the Pubbies at the HQ in D.C. would rather have a Democrat win a given district than have a pubbie up there who would embarrass them by refusing to follow the party line.

If YOU become involved in campaigns for solidly conservative, America and Constitution loving, hard-nosed, independent thinking candidates in 2012 and beyond – and I pray many of you do — please DO NOT trust any of those folks from GOP HQ in Washington. If they want to send you no-strings cash for your campaign, take it. If, however, they “suggest” sending in one of their “professionals,” tell them to fuggetaboutit.

They ARE WHO GOT US INTO THIS MESS AND THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND!!!!

“The common and continual mischief of the spirit of Party is
sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to
discourage and restrain it.” G. Washington

Texas appears to be the problem ~ there you have "open borders" folks at the top in both houses of the legislature ~ Just like in the old days you can hear 'em mumbling "gots to hab me some slaves" as they go about exterminating TEA Party guys.

Still, there's more than one proposal on the floor and it will ultimately benefit the Republicans and hurt the Democrats. As a practical matter I don't think you can mess around much with districts with a TEA Party candidate at the same time you are trying to maximize Republican districts and minimize Democrat districts.

So far there hasn't been a whole lot of detail OUTSIDE OF TEXAS that's getting reported on FreeRepublic. My guess is there's not a whole lot of it going on.

One guy yesterday gave Virginia as an example since the Senate seemed to have some screwy results. On the other hand the Senate is still run by the Democrats in Virginia so you expect that sort of thing. The Governor vetoed the layout and they are back to figuring it all out.

Eventually the Democrat senators will have give up some Democrat white senatorial seats to keep their hold on the chamber, and that'll probably benefit the TEA Party contingent a bit.
