The comments look like a gag. Here's the second:

Ben, find me ONE candidate even on the fringe of the Democratic party who was running on the believe that Bush was "in on it".... ONE. (by the way, no matter how you try to appear even handed even going so as to draw a false equivalence between Birtherism in GOP and Trutherism in Democratic party, in the eyes of your conservative readers you will always be seen as a liberal.....it's no longer about politics but culture and ethnicity)

But it gets better. When I checked the actual poll, it's the old numbers, IIRC.

There are also accusations being made following the 9/11 terrorist attack. One of these is: People in the federal government either assisted in the 9/11 attacks or took no action to stop the attacks because they wanted to United States to go to war in the Middle East.

Answers: ( respondents)
Very likely 16%
Somewhat likely 20%
Not likely 59%
Don't know 5%

If your going to cite a link, you better check it!

They must be thinking of THIS incident which happened on CLintoon’s watch:

And there is a big distinction between the two camps.

One believes George W Bush blew up the Twin Towers and was responsible for 9/11.

The other has questions of where Obama was born.

Huge difference.

He says he has the crosstabs for Dems. That could be different from the full poll results.

“or say they believe, that Obama was born abroad,”
__________________________________________________

Typical of the left, they focus only on place of birth, when that is only half of the puzzle.
We want to know where he was born, and the name/nationality of his daddy.

These people who believe that Bush knew about the WTC Bombing are the same stupid mental defectives who gave us a Muslim president.

I guess they were all happy to help the Muslims.

"Ben, find me ONE candidate even on the fringe of the Democratic party who was running on the believe that Bush was "in on it".... "

I could be way off base, but didn't Alan Grayson make such a claim? I think Cynthia McKinney also claimed as much.

Nonsense! We all know Obama’s birth certificate was being held in a bunker under wtc7 which was blown up by Bush so that Obama could take Hillary out of the race to get back at her for taking all those W keys from the white house computers.

The problem within the Democratic Party was so bad during Bush’s administration that some Democratic blogs had to ban 9/11 conspiracy theorists. It was the first and only time they had to lock Democrats out of their own blogs, but the accusations that the US government allowed or even did 9/11 hurt the Democrats so badly that they censored themselves.

Every president faces conspiracy theories. It’s make-believe but a way of saying “I really, really don’t like you”.

And there is a big distinction between the two camps.

The other big distinction between the two is that 9/11 & GW have been investigated throughly for 10 years by the press, Obama never has been.

The vast majority of 9/11 DUers fell into either the Bush
LIHOP - Let It Happen On Purpose
or
MIHOP - Made It Happen On Purpose
(Their shorthand for which camp you belonged to.)

The sane ones who realized that Osama was responsible were drowned out.

Obama’s intire life is a closed book. He closed it and has spent millions of dollars to make sure no one knows the truth.

Ben Smith is one of those non-thinking Democrats that doesn't comprehend that the need for the POTUS to verify his eligibility beyond reproach does not equate to one making the proclamation that the POTUS was indeed born abroad and is hence ineligible.

Nonsense. Not everyone thinks Bush did it, just the simple fact that Gov’t always lies and that everything has not properly been explained and people punished for their lack protecting this country, ie Jamie Gorelick. Wall, etc.

Blah, Blah, Blah, what you said, Blah, Blah, Blah, so why won’t he release his long form birth certificate?

I know a guy who thinks Bush knew. I finally quieted him down by observing that had Bush been in on it, he would have handled it better. In order to slam Bush for how he handled it, he sort of had to admit that Bush didn’t know it was coming.

There’s a rather important distinction here.

I actually watched some of the ridiculous nonsense speculation that the government was behind 9/11 and that Bush knew about it, yada, yada.

It was clear delusion with no rational argument to support any of it.

On the other hand, there are quite a few very good reasons to question Obama’s eligibility, starting (but far from ending) with the fact that he has invested some real effort (including having lawyers represent him) in order to avoid releasing a $10 long-form birth certificate.

It’s kind of like saying, 1% of people believe the earth is flat. Another 1% of people have an IQ about 130. Therefore, there’s a real similarity between the two groups.

Bulls***.
