Two women are charged after a video showing a brutal attack on a teenage girl at a Baltimore-area McDonald's restaurant surfaced on the internet Friday.
According to the Baltimore Sun, police have charged a 14-year-old girl as a juvenile, and charges are pending for her 18-year-old accomplice. The attack reportedly occurred April 18 at the 6300 Kenwood McDonald’s location.
The Sun is also reporting that State’s Attorney Scott D. Shellenberger says that the assault may be classified as a hate crime because the attackers were both black, and the victim white.
The video, which was uploaded to LiveLeak.com, shows two black females kicking, punching and slapping a white female who at one point starts to have a seizure. Restaurant employees could be seen watching the fight and adding their own splash of commentary to the shocking scene, but only once half-heartedly trying to help the victim. One employee is even heard laughing.

These people represent the corporation. The business carries liability insurance -- there is an expectation that they will take steps to protect their customers. They didn't.

I will also add that the McDonald’s employee encouraged the perps to run away before the cops showed up. I don’t think a court of law will look kindly on that.

Hmm... we all know that in most retail stores that employees who are not security guards are expressly forbidden from getting involved in these types of incidents, precisely because of liability issues. I am wondering if, even if the employees wanted to get involved, they could not do so without risking losing their jobs.
those two "girls" are undoubtedly a nasty lot .but the 900 pound gorilla nobody has mentioned is thanks to "human rights and progressiveness people like "crissy" who used be put in the state asylums are now allowed to "live their lifestyle"

Now I am not excusing or making any kind of excuse for the perps. They should get some serious time.

This is a critical problem I mentioned on other threads. Most businesses have strict rules against an employee getting involved in an altercation. This is because if the employee stops a fight, the company can get sued for big bucks by greedy lawyers. Now, you're saying the company should get sued for not stopping the fight. This is a lose-lose situation for the company, and has been created by the lawyers, politicians, and idiotic public.
Remember a few years ago, a Pizza delivery guy stopped a robbery, and was fired immediately. That's the problem. We've removed so much responsibility from the everyday citizen, under threat of punishment, that we are afraid to do anything.
I am so tired of people refusing to do right because of "policy" or of people actively doing evil because of "policy".
Public schools are notorious for this. They destroy a young child because he chews a graham cracker into the shape of a pistol. If you question their motives in this insanity, the reply is "it's policy".

I agree, but the problem today is that jobs are hard to come by these days. Being fired for breaking an official employee policy will make it a lot harder to get a new job.

By the way, how did they know who the victim was anyway. In the hood 90% of the women look more masculine than this victim.

Whatever he/she/it was, the beating was still a beating and the perps should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. As far as I’m concerned all this business of “hate crimes” is unnecessary political-correctnesss-gone-amok. The law is the law, doling out special punishments for some kinds of crimes isn’t much different than paying reparations on the basis of race.
