A transgender woman beaten at a Baltimore County McDonald's spoke out on Saturday, saying that the attack was "definitely a hate crime" and that she's been afraid to go out in public ever since.
"They said, 'That's a dude, that's a dude and she's in the female bathroom,' " said Chrissy Lee Polis, 22, who said she stopped at the Rosedale restaurant to use the restroom. "They spit in my face."
A worker at the restaurant taped Monday's attack and created a graphic video that went viral last week. After the video garnered hundreds of thousands of views on websites, McDonald's issued a statement condemning the incident, and on Saturday the worker who taped the incident was fired.
The video shows two females — one of them a 14-year-old girl — repeatedly kicking and punching Polis in the head as an employee and a patron try to intervene. Others can be heard laughing, and men are seen standing idly by.
....Her twin brother, Matty Polis, who also lives in Baltimore, said it's been painful to watch her have to endure these sorts of attacks.
"My sister has gotten this her entire life," Matty Polis said. "Being the way she is, she's always had a hard time."
Polis, who was raised by her grandmother in Dundalk and Essex, graduated from Chesapeake High and hasn't had a job or stable place to stay for the past two years, according to her mother, Angela Thomas.
Polis, who is white, believes race may have also been a factor in her attack— both the assailants were black, according to the police report.
Equality Maryland has called on state Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler to step in and investigate the case as a hate crime.

Not hard for me, not for an instant. A transgenered person uses what is clearly the most appropriate restroom and gets beaten by evil thugs.

I agree. This story is much different than it initially appeared. Concur that the black girls reacted way out of proportion. On the other hand, a man in drag walking into a girls bathroom is just asking for trouble. The behavior of the McDonald’s staff was very disturbing, through employees these days are often coached not to get involved when trouble arises.
I almost wonder if its been staged as the opening shot in a campaign to force public venues to accomodate trannies. You know this is coming. In 20 years (or less), I expect to see Mens, Womens, and Trans washrooms. Strange? Yes, but 20 years ago, who thought we’d be seeing gay marriage?

This was a man fully surgically transformed into a woman physically. Should the person learn to squat over a urinal? Such a strange thing. Internet tough guys and people conflicted in their ranking of bigotry struggle with this episode.
All of the blacks I know are Christian. The "ghetto" blacks were usually raised by a Christian grandma or mama and some of that rubbed off.
Before anyone jumps on me, I'm saying that some of the Christian values (like anti-homosexuality) are still considered intolerable. The ghetto mentality takes it to the violent place.
It's too bad that other Christian values don't stick with that generation. Things like family values and personal responsibility.
I don't know that he,..er..she.. IT has had it's plumbing fixed.
I reckon folks can consider themselves "transgendered" with a bit of cross-dressing and mannerisms.
Transgender is the state of one's "gender identity" (self-identification as
woman, man, neither or both) not matching one's "assigned sex".
A woman who stops by the McDonald's to pee, and when assaulted, pulls out a .44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and blows that punks head clean off his shoulders...
A female.
But I think they were using it as slang for their target of opportunity; for their fun (repeatedly coming back, again and again to land another blow or kick).

Regardless of what this person is, regardless if he/she had a record or was intoxicated, he/she is still a human being. (granted, a confused human being.)
These animals beat this person because he/she was white.
They saw a weak looking white person to gang up on and vent their rage.
When they discovered the victim was a transexual, they started with the ‘dude in the ladie’s restroom’ bit.
(The family states the victim had had an operation to remove his male parts. Just where is the victim supposed to use the restroom?)
From all reports, he/she was outside the restroom when they spit in his/her face and started to beat him/her.
Another case of black rage/hate against whites.
The animals who beat this person should be jailed. All the McDonalds employees who stood around and did nothing during this savage attack should be fired. I hope the victim sues McDonald’s for every penny they have.

This one is tough because the victim was surgically transformed from man to woman. Where would one go ?
If you ever had to pick a perfect script for a Woody Allen movie....this is it. Someone will ask for the minority numbers on the Baltimore police squad and how many trans-gendered there are...and thereby create a necessity to hire a dozen....mostly out of state and from Austin, TX. McDonalds will have to search for a trans-gendered lawyer to handle their position and hustle up some guy-gal from San Diego. The Baltimore city council will spend a good bit of time talking about how friendly Baltimore is toward guy-gal’s but be unable to cite any facts. Eventually, when the movie is discussed...it’ll be Matt Damon playing the guy-gal, with Pauly Shore brought in to be a McDonalds employee. It’ll win Matt an Academy award for best actor and Pauly will finally win a best supporting actor.
Obviously the attackers should have used their “Beginning Brain Surgery” and “Rocket Science 101” books to beat the he/she with. I guess they weren’t thinking, probably in a hurry between classes.
