At Last, Couric Is Expected to Say (admit) She’s Leaving CBS (Dinosaur Media DeathWatch™)
The New York Times ^ | April 25, 2011 | Brian Stelter

This week, Ms. Couric is planning to acknowledge one of the worst-kept secrets in television: that she is leaving the “CBS Evening News” after five years. Then, as soon as she returns from London, where she will be anchoring the network’s coverage of the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday, CBS will announce her successor during the first week of May. Slaven Vlasic/Getty Images Katie Couric, anchor of CBS’s evening news since late 2006.

The meticulously arranged exit plan was described by four people with knowledge of it, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because it was not supposed to be revealed before the formal announcement.

Ms. Couric’s contract with CBS ends on June 4, and the network is said to want a month for a transition. Scott Pelley, a correspondent on “60 Minutes,” is expected to succeed Ms. Couric. A transition has been fodder for the media for most of a month, but Ms. Couric insisted as recently as April 13 that she had not decided about staying or going.

Ms. Couric had scheduled a publicity tour for her new book, “The Best Advice I Ever Got,” for that week, and in almost every interview, she batted away questions about her future. “I’m just in the middle of figuring it out,” she told Matt Lauer on her former show, “Today.” “I’m not in a position to discuss it at this point,” she told Barbara Walters on “The View.”

Privately, some at CBS complained about the public uncertainty surrounding the “CBS Evening News.” But the exit plan will begin to clear the air.

Isn't it illegal to replace a woman with a man?

The best we can say...is that some Channel 4 host had barely enough skill to make it to the Today Show, and somehow...convinced a bunch of dimwits that she could actually portray a news host on the nightly news for CBS. She even hints now that she will pretend to portray an afternoon interview host and somehow interest enough folks to pick up on her show and pay her money.

C.BS. can replace the deplorable couric with another of her ilk and it will make NO difference as C.BS. will still push their liberal agenda with some other fool.

Bye Ms. Couir, We Knew You Far Too Well.

Ahhh...The Golden Years at CBS are nearly over.
Will there ever be another Times-Roman fake but accurate story? Who amongst the Anchors and Anchorettes will be able to say they had their colon examined on National T.V.?

Our viewer asks why these people are called Anchors. It's because unless tied firmly to a large corporate boat they sink like a rock out of sight. Just ask Danny.

My favorite story about the half wit known as Katie Couric took place on 9/11.

After the second plane hit the second tower she made the comment that, "This could be the work of a rogue air traffic controller".

Is she really stupid enough to believe an ATC would direct not one but two commercial jets to fly into tall buildings and not one but both pilots did so?

Yes, she is.

How this woman remains employed in the news industry is one of the world's greatest mysteries.

The tune that comes to mind is the Charley Pride classic, “When I Stop Leaving (I’ll be Gone).”

Let’s all start watching CBS Evening News after she leaves and give them a ratings jump.
