Part of it is because my job let me see things that probably aren’t obvious. Although once you become aware of what is going on you can see the patterns easily enough. Sometimes you just have to ask and you’ll find out easily enough. A lot of people never venture outside of their comfortable little world and have no real idea of what is going on in their own neighborhood, much less the immigrant neighborhoods around them.

There have been plenty of articles on this behavior by our “model immigrants” over the years but they don’t get necessarily get a lot of exposure in the southern California press. And then you also have useful idiots in the GOP who spend their time haranguing anyone who brings up the subject- Hugh Hewitt and that crowd come to mind.

They weren’t bad kids, although the aroma of fish frying wasn’t always to my liking. But they added maybe $8,000 apiece to our total tax bill. If Californians weren’t forced to pay for the education of students illegally here we wouldn’t be as close to bankruptcy as we are.
