Napolitano Claims Southern Border Is More Secure than Ever

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano used a trip to El Paso, Texas, as an opportunity to claim that the border with Mexico is “better now than it ever has been.”

Yeah it's secure. That's why our beloved Government posted warning signs in parks in Southern Arizona warning folks to stay clear because of drug gang activity. These Progressives must think people are stupid or can't read news stories to try to keep feeding us this crap.

This is a lie to support an Amnesty only bill. I heard a deputy HLS lackey parroting this fabrication last week. the approach is to claim “all is well on the border ,now let’s clean up the mess”. This will not work . The House of Representatives will not pass it and this unemployed nation will riot.

She should provide couples counseling for the Charlie Sheen family.

They would pass with flying tiger's stripes.

Of course she can say that, arrests of those illegally crossing the border are down. The part she won’t tell is that they’re down because she’s ordered the Border Patrol to not arrest them.

This is the kind of word twisting I would expect out of somebody like Bill Clinton. We have a small fraction of the border that is pretty secure, where the physical fence is. It is harder to cross than it has ever been. To her that means it is more secure than ever.

I would submit, as somebody who works the border, that it has never been more dangerous. The people in San Ysidro might not have the nightly herds of illegals running through their yards, but I certainly wouldn't go out into large sections of the Arizona desert without a rifle and a good loadout of ammo. It is sort of like moving from a house in a neighborhood without bars on the windows to a house in a bad neighborhood with bars on the windows. Your new house is "more secure" in one way, but much more in jeopardy in another, much more important way.

All of this still ignores the huge human tragedy that comes with illegal immigration. The exploitation, violent crime, and sometimes death inflicted upon illegals is because the government makes illegal immigration so enticing an option. Illegal immigration can be stopped as soon as we make it untenable to get employment in this country. I will admit that we would probably need a guest worker program for farm labor.

Wasn't the last time really circa 1916?

"In May, 1916, Lieutenant Patton saw combat for the first time. Based on information about the location of Julio Cardenas, one of Villa’s most trusted subordinates and commander of his personal bodyguard; Patton, accompanied by ten soldiers from the 6th Infantry Regiment, and two civilian guides traveling in three Dodge open top touring automobiles, conducted a surprise raid on a ranch house at San Miguelito (Map 2) near Rubio.

"During the ensuing fire-fight, Patton and his men killed three men. One was identified as Cardenas. The other two dead Mexicans were an unnamed Villista captain and a private. Patton’s men tied the bodies to the hoods of the cars, while Patton put Cardenas’ silver-studded saddle and sword into his vehicle. The spectacle of the three cars with the bodies tied on the hoods caused a great commotion along the road, but Patton and his party sped through the countryside to their headquarters at Dublan without incident."

Well, most of the bodies that have been found in mass graves are people who worked for the cartels(processors, mules etc.) or REFUSED to work for them.

There are only so many states that border Mexico that can arguably say different! Unfortunately, those in charge continue to ignore and condemn those states as ignorant racists examples that need to be expunged!
