You just can’t make this up.

You really can't. I mean....the headline alone is almost too much.

I saw about 50 teenagers running down the middle of Connecticut Avenue around 4:00. They were beating and kicking another teenager, whom I think was the stabbing victim. When the mob took off down the street, the victim got up and was stumbling around in the middle of the street. It was very frightening because the mob was completely out of control. They were headed straight for my car. Traffic was heavy and at a standstill. There was nothing I could do other than lock my doors. Fortunately the mob ran past me down toward Woodley Park.

Easter Monday is traditionally African American Family Day at the National Zoo. Easter Monday has been a Washington-area multicultural tradition that spans more than 100 years.

Easter is celebrated on Sunday. So why aren’t any of these people at work.

Odds are 100 to 1 that homemade names are involved.

Given what goes on up there, they need a police force. But I have never really understood why, since they are part of the Smithsonian, that US Park Police don’t have the pleasure.

Take the animals out and leave the people in.

“It wasn’t clear whether any weapons were used.” A stabbing with no weapon? Were sharp words used?

“Easter Monday is traditionally African American Family Day at the National Zoo. Easter Monday has been a Washington-area multicultural tradition that spans more than 100 years.”

Well...which is it; African American Family Day or a multicultural tradition. These two concepts are mutually exclusive.

And, simply put, African American Family Day is racist.

True, but if they insist on having such an event I think a different venue might be a wise idea. I mean, African American Family Day at the National Zoo? Seriously?

I have a background in zookeeping. Zoos that celebrate a day like this have a lot of trouble with the animals those days. They are particularly aggressive by noon. They get teased and tormented and won’t take it any more.
