It's getting better I think.

I got a little lax in my physical therapy for a while and now I'm trying to make up for it. Been walking the dog again (it's been almost 4 months since I could do that). I've also started a bicycle regimen that should help. Gotta get my leg muscles built back up to regular size so they can fit me for a special brace next month. (I'll only have to wear it when doing really strenuous stuff.)

Thanks for asking!

Thanks for this. My maternal family hails from the Albany area. My Grandfather was an officer in the Army Reserves and my parents’ wedding reception was at the Watervliet Arsenal’s O-Club. When we’d visit my Grandmother would take me out golfing on the base’s Par-3/Pitch-n-Put golf course, then over to the PX for goodies. I really enjoyed seeing (and getting to climb all over) the various artillery pieces located on the base.

There was also a phenomenal bakery just down the road, as well as a good Fish Fry drive-in. And a nearby watertower with a winking face painted on it ...

It has been very dry here, so I have had to water every day.
However, I did pick the most lovely red cayenne pepper this morning!

Yummmmmmm.

Would love to see one about Fort Monmouth NJ which closes for good in September 2011. Once home of the Signal Corps and the Army’s Carrier Pigeons, the fort has an illustrious history as the home of the Communications and Electronics Command. Most of the high tech electronic equipment and radar in the Army Arsenal was developed by CECOM. The first radar signal bounced off the moon was picked up by a Fort Monmoth (Evans Area) receiver.

REST IN PEACE, FALLEN BROTHER!

Spc. Joseph A. Kennedy, USA, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, KIA Afghanistan 15APR2011

I have fought a good fight,
I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

God Of Our Fathers

Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace!
We who remain hold you in high honor.
Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct;
We who remain keep this place sacred.
Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades;
We who remain keep the watch.
Rest, fallen brother, among these who answered the Nation’s call;
We who remain press the fight forward in your name.
Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden;
We who remain have taken up the torch.
Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!

Aloha Teenster!

The sunny day that was supposed to be yesterday finally came today....on Monday. Our disappointment at missing a beach outing is profound.

But after hearing the news about the storms in the mid west and fires in Texas, am counting my blessings.
