Jimmy Carter, in N. Korea, Gives Kowtow Subservient Bow to N. Korean Hosts (Footage)
JNN TV in Tokyo Japan, filmed in North Korea today ^ | 26 April 2010 | AmericanInTokyo

These people disgust me. Absolutely disgust me.

President or Former President notwithstanding, the United States of America not only publicly bowing in Asian subservience (their culture) earlier this afternoon to a much less powerful nation, but one with one of the worst human rights records on the face of the earth, complete with concentration camps as we speak.

Carter arrived today. And did the deed immediately upon arriving at the airport in Pyongyang, North Korea, to a DPRK official.

Go to URL here: LINK and hit the arrow to stream.

Do these naive morons honestly believe we can gain the friendship with these mass murderers who threaten South Korea, Japan, and our hundreds of thousands of troops in them--with such abject, pathetic acts of sychophancy? Should stream on most computers, but up for a limited time....

No sadder fool than an old fool and he’s all that.

Precisely.

This carries a big, profound meaning in Asian protocol and society. Ond man is clearly senior, and one man is clearly junior, a subservient, in an Asian Vertical Sense.

Guess which county licks the boots of the other country in this PR fiasco today in Pyongyang.

Won’t run on my computer :-(

Maybe one of our geekier Freepers can grab a screen capture of the bow and post it for us? TomGuy, maybe?

There must be something in the genetic makeup of leftist Dems that causes them to bow to tyrants.

The only bow I noticed was Carter to the kid to acknowledge receipt of the bouquet.

That scene is the pic in post #1.

Thank you for the clarification. At least from the angle of that photo, it might appear that Jimmah is just bending a little in order to receive the bouquet from the much smaller child. I wouldn’t be surprised if he bowed to someone, anyone, in N. Korea or elsewhere, but this photo doesn’t really show it.

“For Carter to bow to them is a joke.”

While I despise Jimmy Carter, in the Korea's a bow is the normal greeting. No different than a hand shake. It is not the sign of subservience as in other cultures. I don't know if Jimmy knows that or not.

I lived in Korea for several years and have family who are Korean, I know their culture.

For any leader to bow to subordinates is shameful. For a world leader to bow to someone much weaker is a sign of complete and utter disgrace.

Koreans who like America are saying “WTH is he doing!” For those who do not like America it is a victory.

How bows to the first man greeting him, then again to the child.

Many, many years ago, all of Carter’s brains went to his peanuts.

I don't see how anyone missed Carter bowing to his master right after he got off of the plane.

This pic was caught as he was bringing his head up, it actually went a little lower.

Carter's significant other and their spawn really enjoyed the traitor's speech.

Thanks for the post AIT!

Oh and if you look really fast, Carter actually did 2 little bows to the boy that brought him the wedding bouquet.

Thanks for the screencaps, Syncro. That top picture shows exactly what I was looking for (since I can’t watch the video myself). Yep...that is most definitely a bow. Good grief, could he and his ideological twin, Obowma, be anymore disgusting and disgraceful?

It's amazing what those that don't have the best interests of the USA in mind can get away with.

It's absolutely disgraceful

Carter should have hung it up long ago...he consistantly makes matters worse. He needs to stay out of politics entirely.

Yes unfortunately they can't stop themselves.

Their souls are tainted and their consciences seared by the spirit of hate and death.

Obama, Carter, ClintonX2, Holder, R. Emanuel etc etc.

They are pawns of the devil.

Dear Leader:

I am hereby pledging to deliver to the port of your choice one each pallet of rice if you keep Jimmy Carter within the borders of your country. The delivery will be made within seven days of your announcement that Mr. Carter will be enjoying your hospitality indefinitely.

Sincerely,

You are welcome, Syncro.

And, a side note here, I dont know who "Virgil Bierschwale" is, but appears to be a bit dishonest. He runs a blog and picked this FR thread story up (fine), but did not credit Free Republic at all and passed off the entire translation above, the text/explanation, links, everything, as to his own work, "by Virgil Bierschwale" (sic).

Shame this is even within the Conservative ranks. (though I dont mind the story going viral).....Some fellow named "Randy's Right" did this is well.

Now HOW in the world would these guys mine this stuff exclusively in the Japanese langugage, only.

Evryone reads FreeRepublic and unprincipled ones steal from this site.

I saw what you were talking about with a little googling.

That’s pretty whack, giving himself the byline to something he copied line for line and link for link.

I don’t think Bierschwale is a much of a conservative, he’s a huff and puffer over at the leftist site Huff post.

At least he hasn’t posted it at his facebook page yet...heh

Keep up the good work, I always like to read your posts.

This was an EXCELLENT find.

I am going to start putting the "please credit FR and AiT, you did not generate this effort" disclaimers on some of my stuff that I find along these lines and post on FR, not widely out there in the US media or blogosphere due to language differences.

Thanks for the feedback, Much appreciated!

So, would this be a case of Obama taking after Carter, or Carter taking after Obama?
