Statutory rape or its equivalent is not funny under any circumstance.
Among its many horrific consequences:
It breeds a new generation of adult men who think it is morally permissible to rape someone’s daughter.
Whether the minor is male or female, it is stealing innocence from a child.
It further corrodes the moral fabric of the country.
Somehow I doubt people would be as ambivalent had it been a male teacher and a female student; or a male teacher with a male student.
Sexual relations with a minor are never legally permissible, and that is why we have laws to this end. I hope they throw the book at this teacher.
Ridiculous supposition.
Oh your no fun. You are clearly not a guy.
Ironic, isn't it?
The kids got laid...somehow I doubt she stole innocence of these football players.
Nor is it clear that this incident “breeds a new generation of adult men who think it is morally permissible to rape someones daughter.” That borders on hysterical.
If sexual relations with a minor is illegal, then we should be arresting every high school junior, most sophomore, and a good number of the freshman.
Should a teacher be boinking the students? Off course not...but that's because she is a teacher.
Whether the minor is male or female, it is stealing innocence from a child.
Sanctimonious much? Its hard thinking of a 17 year old boy as a mere "innocent" "child". . Maybe you need to lighten up a bit.
I agree with you, m. It is freaking not funny. It is sick.
THANKS FOR A REASONED POST.
The “jokes” here on this thread are usually from guys who are in some ways still insecure, adolescents.
It is not funny, it is sick. If this were female students, the male teacher would be in prison. But somehow we give the female teachers a pass.
I find it surprising that the usual ‘conservative” posters somehow think its no big deal and the Christian posters who get all upset about other ‘moral transgressions’ are yukking it up on these stories.
That's quite a stretch there, FRiend. It's like saying that seeing a movie about Adolph Hitler makes me want struedel.
I agree with you.
¨Position of authority¨ evidently doesn´t mean much here in evident 6th grade.
I find it almost impossible to believe that you would have typed such a outlandish statement.
I have never in my life thought it morally permissible to act inappropriately toward any underage girl, much less RAPE them!
Just wow.
“It breeds a new generation of adult men who think it is morally permissible to rape someones daughter.”
Excuse me? Sleeping with an older woman makes a boy think that it is morally permissible to rape someone’s daughter?
Meanwhile, back on planet Earth...
It breeds a new generation of adult men who think it is morally permissible to rape someones daughter. I don't see how a 16 year old gets the idea of raping someone's daughter from getting some action with a 32 year old woman? It's been many years since I was 16, but most of us guys including the football players (as I was), certainly were far from innocent. We worked hard and played hard. I'm older and wiser today than I was at 16, or 26 for that matter.
Somehow I doubt people would be as ambivalent had it been a male teacher and a female student; or a male teacher with a male student.
You're right. I wouldn't. Males are the stronger sex. Males also don't get pregnant. It's a man's job to protect women. Yes, I have a double standard, and I don't apologize for it.
Funny.
I feel sorry for her.
She must have a terrible esteem problem to have done what she did. She looks attractive and with the right clothes would probably be a knock-out. Why would a woman her age go for a young kid? Self-esteem problem.
She may have been abused herself as a kid - by a male.
Funny thing about sex. A female CAN’T “rape” an unwilling male.
Besides, having been a teenage guy myself - I wouldn’t have been “traumatized” one bit.
As somebody here said, one of the males involved was probably homosexual.
Having said all of that, I’m not sure I would really have done it. I believed sex was only right between two consenting adults in marriage or close to it. I still do.
But I really think this poor lady should be cut a break.
Again, TRUST ME - those guys weren’t “traumatized” - if anything SHE has been.
