(CNN) The White House released President Obama’s original birth certificate Wednesday.
The surprise release follows recent and sustained remarks by businessman Donald Trump, among others, that raised doubts as to whether the president was born in the United States.

Would Obama do a very high-profile release of a document still in layered format? According to your reasoning, no. But he did it. That’s all that needs to be said about your reasoning.

And read p 19 of the PDF at http://gen.doh.hawaii.gov/sites/har/AdmRules1/8%208A%20B%20VR%20Admin%20Rules.pdf , where it describes the form of the certification.
And I believe there is a federal statute which codifies when one state’s “acts and records” are to be recognized by other states in compliance with the Constitution’s Full Faith and Credit Clause, and it specifically mentions a raised seal.
Last I knew, it was said that the border on the certificates in Hawaii changes every year or two - a security feature that was added after 9-11. If the border is not part of the certificate then please show me some certified COLB’s or long-forms that do not have a border.
Have they done this yet? I tried to access the White House file about a half hour ago, and received an odd error message.
But abnormally he would spend millions to keep it from being published. And then he would publish it with obvious signs of insignificant tampering sprinkled with a few juicy other obscurities just to keep the merry-go-round loud and dizzying.
So, if we take away Trump's "I won" with this new revelation, then Obama not only wins, but he wins big.
An incurious Media will view the official document and move on because they know that John Q.P. can't concentrate long enough to sort out fact from fiction.

Except that the US Supreme Court cited it in WKA, and used the arguments of Lynch in WKA.
And at a minimum, it shows that courts in 1844 had concluded that a NBC could have two alien parents. If you read Lynch, you will see why the reasoning there is flawless.

Somebody mentioned that the specific areas that are distinct layers include a spacer for a graphic around that area. I wonder how the location of the graphics box compares with where that “seal” is.

No, the stacks make no difference, unless Okubo is wrong. She said that the BC# was given by the HDOH office on the “date filed”.
A BC numbered on Aug 8 should have a lower number than one numbered on Aug 11.

What stamp is not the same? The stamp above/around Onaka's signature looks the same to me. Are you looking at a different stamp? The COLB itself is different, which is not a surprise given the 34 year difference in the documents.
Thanks for posting that. That’s exactly what I got also when I tried to copy it in Word, but when I went to post it on my blog, my blog won’t let me post. I’ve copied a lot of stuff from PDF’s to Word - including stuff that was pieced together and saved as a PDF - and never had anything like that happen. I’m a computer moron but that was definitely weird.

Another post said that the M. was preprinted on the blank birth certificate form back in 1961 so the typist only had to type "7:24 P." Both P.M. and A.M. end in M. so they typist saves nearly 1 second not typing the M (it probably makes sense if you create government forms for a living).

Lynch is tough reading. The citation I gave for it is hard to read, at least for my aging eyes. However, it makes a powerful case, and WKA repeated its reasoning.

There is no doubt but that natural born subject is a term that applied to children of alien parents, so WKA applied that definition to him. And if WKA met the criteria for a NBC, then he was a citizen - which is what the formal ruling said.
The DISSENT in WKA argued against it:
“Considering the circumstances surrounding the framing of the Constitution, I submit that it is unreasonable to conclude that “natural-born citizen” applied to everybody born within the geographical tract known as the United States, irrespective of circumstances, and that the children of foreigners, happening to be born to them while passing through the country, whether of royal parentage or not, or whether of the Mongolian, Malay or other race, were eligible to the Presidency, while children of our citizens, born abroad, were not.”
But that was the dissent, and it never answered why the Framers used NBC if they didn’t mean it in the same sense that it was used prior to 1787...

In African, the lower-case a is misaligned upwards, while in Africa, it is not, but the c appears slightly misaligned upwards instead. Also, look at the letter spacing in these two words, they should be pretty much identical. Instead, in “Africa” the r nearly touches the i, but not in “African”. There also appears to me to be differences in spacing and alignment of the lower-case letters in the three instances of the word “Honolulu”.
