(CNSNews.com) - Back in 2008 then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) knew where she wanted to place the blame for high gas prices. The price of oil is at the doorstep -- 4 dollars plus per gallon for oil, is attributed to two oil men in the White House, Pelosi said in a CNN interview on July 17th, 2008.
Now that President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney are out of the White House, Pelosi has been silent on the issue. She has made no public comments on gas prices over the past few months. President Barack Obama however, has been fielding questions on the issue as he begins his bid for re-election.
VIDEO rips Obama 2:34 minutes
Discussing the price of gas while campaigning is nothing new for Obama, he was critical of the high cost in 2007, Weve got an economy that is doing very well for some, but is leaving folks all across the country and the heartland struggling to figure out how do they fill up their gas tanks, Obama said at a July 3rd, 2007 campaign event in Iowa.
Even though gas is more expensive right now than in the summer of 2007, then as well as now, Obama discusses having a new, diverse energy policy for America as the answer to the price problem. One major difference between these campaign stops in 2007 and his recent speeches at Democratic National Committee events, is his criticism of Americas foreign policy.
We have been engaged in a foreign policy that fundamentally does not work. That weve got a war that should have never been authorized, a war that should have never have been waged, a war that has cost us billions of dollars and thousands of lives and has not made us safer, but has distorted our foreign policy and has diminished our standing all around the world, Obama said while campaigning in Iowa in 2007.
With ongoing military operations now in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya Obamas perspective may have changed. In his March 16, 2011 DNC fundraiser in Washington, D.C. President Obama referenced ongoing military operations and the convulsions in the Middle East as part of a foreign policy that has got enormous challenges ahead.
The approach of Pelosi and President Obama to the issues of gas prices and foreign policy may have changed since the time of the presidential campaign of 2008, but the two issues seem destined to be front and center for the political campaigns of 2012.
If oil men in the White House were to blame for 08, an oily man in the White House is to blame for 11.
I’m sure that in Nancy Pelosi’s mind, this is much different: “...Well...um...let’s see...there’s the Libya thing going on, and Republicans are bad and Democrats are good, so it can’t be Obama’s fault, so that makes it different this time.”
"Hey, kids, believe me now instead of listening to me then.
> Pelosi Blamed Oil Men in the White House for Gas Prices
> in 08, Now Whos To Blame?
Easy question to answer.
Now it’s the ANTI-oil men in the White House to blame for the high gas prices.
There’s a world of ammunition out there for the Republican nominee when running against Obama, hope they use it.
The pink tutu men in there are to blame now.

My pleasure. Thank you for all the pings.
Thanks for the post.
It’s sickening to think that a bimbo like Nancy Pelosi was elected Speaker Of The House. She is a typical spoiled rich wife that’s totally ignorant of how the World works. She was elected by equally ignorant voters!
The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter. - - - Winston Churchill
Good idea. WELCOME ABOARD! Thread BUMP!
The best thing for this country would be for supporters of the petrochemical industry to be in the White House.
The fuel of capatilism is oil, and the demonrat party treat the AMERICAN oil industry worse than Al Queda.
The dimrat congresscritters from oil states need to be outed as obama supporters and defeated period. NO QUARTER.
Screw them. They claim to represent their districts, but they are nothing but obama butt boys while screwing their constituants who are losing their jobs due to the kenyan marxist and his marxist party.
If you are a democrat congresscritter from an oil producing state, your days in congress are numbered.
I knew that bum ditch couldn’t think, but I guess she can’t even read....
But a pad of post-it notes and put a “How’s that hope and change working out? NOBAMA 2012” on them and stick on every gas pump you use. Why not?
"Nancy Pelosi will be Speaker of the House again. Damn, I think I wet my pants a little when I said it that time."
The oil comanies could save themselves if they dye the oil Green.
It is a strategic half-move to say that Obama “caused” oil prices to rise. By that strategy, if the prices then go down, Obama can take credit for that and say, “See, I beat those companies up, and I’m your hero.”
It is far better to say that Obama manipulates oil prices up and down depending on his needs. (and his instructions for King Abdullah and other handlers?)
>put a Hows that hope and change working out? NOBAMA 2012 on them and stick on every gas pump you use.
Already there with you.
It needs etched into the pumps so it stays put.
Arab men in the White Mosque? Muslim men?
Bump for post-its on pumps.
I am sure there would have been a prison sentence in there for me, but...it would have been worth it!
I love it! Those would go over well in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. LOL!
The current resident of the White House, a man who doesn’t appear to be eligible to actually serve as President, is to blame.
Oil men out f the Whte Huse are to blame. We are about ti see Obama blame the dirty rotten oil companies for windfall profits, and he will try to saddle them with the responsibility of high gas prices, and a subsequent corporate tax to get that money "back for America."
One problem though. All the oil companies have moved their corporate HQs off shore.I will cheer when they tell Obummer to eff off.
We had government wall street, government motors, and soon we will have government gasoline. It will be defacto nationalisation, justified by "profit gouging."And who gets the cheap gas....care to guess? Ever hear of affirmative fueling? Great way to get votes? A federal gas station in every town.I can hardly wait!/s
