The sorry SOB’s would rue the day they were born if I ever caught them in the act of molesting a woman.

I thought people all over the world were the same. “We are the world” is a lie?

A blonde American woman was brutally attacked by a mob of men in Egypt? Let's not jump to any conclusions.

Before the assault, Ms. Logan said, she did not know about the levels of harassment and abuse that women in Egypt and other countries regularly experienced. “I would have paid more attention to it if I had had any sense of it,” she said.

Let me get this straight...she spent a good amount of time in Iraq during the insurgency and saw first hand how Muslim men treat their women, and she now claims that she had no idea how bad it really was?

Clueless.

While having compassion for the woman, and disdain for the savages who attacked her, one still wonders what she was doing in that situation in the first place.

Either she was being unwise, or her handlers, or both.

I feel shock and revulsion about her attack.

But it speaks volumes that someone allegedly so well educated, so sophisticated, etc. does not understand that women are treated badly in many parts of the world. Some people with liberal, politically correct world views just don’t understand the evil and shocking treatment of women, minorities, homosexuals, etc. in other parts of the world.

Normally I would say yes, but I was flying this week and grumbled at a TSA pig when they yelled at me for having a boarding pass in my pocket - they then decided I needed a TSA "massage".

She declined to go into more detail about the assault but said: “What really struck me was how merciless they were. They really enjoyed my pain and suffering. It incited them to more violence.” ...

Before the assault, Ms. Logan said, she did not know about the levels of harassment and abuse that women in Egypt and other countries regularly experienced. “I would have paid more attention to it if I had had any sense of it,” she said. “When women are harassed and subjected to this in society, they’re denied an equal place in that society.

She didn't know because she didn't want to know the truth about Islam.

From the article:

"Before the assault, Ms. Logan said, she did not know about the levels of harassment and abuse that women in Egypt and other countries regularly experienced."

She experienced a horrible experience, but how could she not know. Aren't reporters supposed to read the news, and keep up with events?

I think she most likely viewed herself as being immune. My guess is she figured they would not attack a leftist who is sympathetic to their Anti-American views.

Her and her stupid bosses who sent her there political correct damaged brains just won’t allow them to see Islam as the threat it really is.

If it did, they might see themselves as racist and not as enlightened as they think they are and that is the most horrifying thought to a Liberal. So they block out all the bad stuff.

This is no different that when that Timothy Treadwell guy got mauled by grizzly bears he thought were his friends

>> I think she most likely viewed herself as being immune.

It’s called being disconnected from the realities that exist outside of the West. That said, I’m glad she and her crew made it home alive. Regardless of the MSM’s outrageous bias, they were serving their profession and should not be maligned for anything other being ignorant — they’re Americans. The flash mob that attacked her should have been lined up and executed.

Lara Logan covers the overthrow of "brutal dictator" Hosni Mubarak to skyrocket her PC career, and becomes the canary in the Egyptian coal mine.

Another liberal woman, completely in denial regarding the reality of life for a woman living under Muslim rule.

She believed most of the stories about muslim abuse were just scary tales made up by mean spirited right wingers to steal votes from “progressive” candidates.

I bet she still believes it.

She isn’t a journalist. She’s just an AA hire with a face and body that those hiring knew would be appealing on television.

While I empathize with the lady and am sorry it happened, what did she expect? After all, she was in Egypt during unusually lawless conditions. She certainly must have known the risks, else she is too stupid to be in the business.

I did not malign her in any way.

I just think it was idiotic for them, or anyone, to be so close to the mob in the first place. A mob that size and so energized can be a very unpredictable thing.

Could be she wanted to get a bird's eye view of the story, or maybe even be a part of the story. But I still believe she saw herself as being immune to real danger.

Might be similar to the Daniel Pearl situation. Do you think that Daniel thought it very likely that he was going to be beheaded? I think not, I'm sure he felt some degree of danger but nothing close to what happened. I think some reporters believe that since they see themselves as neutral or often even sympathetic to the Muslims, that they also believe the Radical Muslims will view them that as well and will do them no harm.

My bad, I segued from your specific comment to the general disparaging view.

I agree, they were foolish, and should not have been granted the exposure of the “Inspirational Democratic Movement”. They were used and so egregiously given the violent situations you referenced.

For me, domestic politics ends at the water’s edge. Unfortunately, our political adversaries seem to disagree.
