A senior CBS news anchor today labelled Donald Trump's campaign to raise doubts about President Obama's school grades as an 'ugly strain of racism'. Face The Nation host Bob Schieffer made the comments in the wake of Mr Trump's calls yesterday for Mr Obama to release college transcripts 'proving' he had the grades to enter Columbia and Harvard. The attack came as new research suggested viewers for Celebrity Apprentice - some of the most liberal for any TV show - were deserting the program due to Mr Trump's outspoken rants against Mr Obama.
The furore came soon after the President released his full birth certificate - finally putting the question of his citizenship beyond reasonable doubt. Yesterday Mr Trump called on the President to release his college transcripts.
Reacting to the call, Mr Schieffer said: 'That's just code for saying he got into law school because he's black. 'This is an ugly strain of racism that's running through this whole thing.' Earlier in the day Mr Trump had hinted that the President did not earn the grades at his first college Occidental to allow him to enter the two prestigious Ivy league schools. He said: 'I have friends who have smart sons with great marks, great boards, great everything and they can't get into Harvard.
'We don't know a thing about this guy. There are a lot of questions that are unanswered about our President.' In a separate interview given moments after Mr Obama released the birth certificate, Trump said: 'I'd like to know how does he get into Harvard, how does he get into Columbia if he isn't a very good student. 'If he wants to release it that's fine,if he doesn't want to release it that's fine too. But the word is he wasn't a very good student.'

I have a feeling Allen West is going to tag Trump out and take over the issue for a while. Alan Keyes has been wanting to get on TV and make his demands but the media's too busy trying to make this a racist issue so they're keeping Alan Keyes out.

I don’t know whether he’ll run or not, but he certainly seems to kn ow the field is open to anyone interested. As with the 2008 race, the challenger will almost certainly win.
This accusation is a serious setback for Trump; for decades now, it is “racist” to wonder why unqualified blacks are admitted to schools or jobs; we are just supposed to look the other way. He broke the cardinal rule of Race Relations 101 - he was honest.
I think America is ready for that kind of honesty. Hopefully enough of America to win a general election.

America has always been ready for that honesty; it has just been pushed behind closed doors/out of the public sphere. The voters won’t have a problem with the message; the media that influences the voters does. They will do what they can to sink whoever opposes the Sultan.
I’ll tell you what’s really racist. If Soetoro were perceived as white, he would have been given the boot during the primaries.

I don’t think ANYBODY understands how far left VIRTUALLY ALL of our ‘news providers’ and their staffs really are.
It is only it times like these that we get even a HINT.
We have to learn to deal with all these bogus charges of racism. If ANYBODY checked—by whatever method or statistics used—you would see racism in the USA as a one-way street. All blacks hate all whites. Hispanics and blacks hate each other about equally. The both hate jews.
Whites are left to contend with virtually universal employment discrimination.
Almost half the contestants on his show were black this year. This is B.S. I hope he sues CBS and the old fool for defamation.
