I'm not sure whether to expect an immediate response from AQ, or whether they will pull something big in the future, on a significant date (maybe 9-11-11). If they want to wait, they will probably be more successful. American's will go back to sleep now, ignoring terrorist threats. For the next few weeks, with Bin Laden fresh in our memories again, we might be prepared for immediate retaliation. However, long term, we'll be letting our guard down. Especially with the current occupants of the (half) White House and DHS.
Sadly, I suspect you will be proven right.

I wonder when he did it. My theory is that the simpletons running the WH PR dept decided on the pre-empt Donald timeframe, and then someone said “I wonder if President Bush should be notified before he learns of it on air?” And then our dear leader had to make a series of courtesy phone calls.
Courtesy not being one of the natural attributes of the current occupants of the West Wing, it probably was a last minute decision.
Suspect the Brits knew about it sooner than we did. Reason that the newly weds decided to postpone their honeymoon, and Wm and Harry report back to work this morning. Duty first.
I did chuckle last night when I saw a large Bush/Cheney sign held by one of the revelers!
My skepticism is more whether these demonstrations are genuine celebrations of a US military success, or an excuse to hold an Obama campaign event. I can see the reaction in NYC and at West Point being real celebrations of the military’s killing of OBL. I’m skeptical that the one at the WH was mostly a bunch of college kids trying shore up Obama’s military cred (and reelection prospects), which is non-existent among many Americans.
There were some other students reactions at a few more campuses. We need more information to see what, if anything has taken place elsewhere around the nation, and whether this is mostly a college student thing.
Did you happen to catch Jane Harmon D, CA on FOX? She said the work culminated yesterday was spread over three different presidents term. That it is our intelligence department and the seals that should be given the credit for its success...OUCH.

I guarantee that - it was both a last minute decision, and it wasn't his idea.
He would have never thought of notifying President Bush. Frankly, I'm shocked that anyone on his staff did.
Must have been purely a PR decision, and an after thought at that.

Great seeing people with signs thanking Bush at his residence. With the added quote that Obama forgot to thank Bush.
I also read in several articles where some are mentioning Obama simply continued with the Bush agenda...and that’s so IMO. Never the less Obama did give the direct order...and so it is done.
Awaiting pictures now which apparently they are hesitant to show the bloody things. We didn’t have a problem with Saddams sons...no different than seeing dead animals which is what they were. They stopped being human long ago.
