Any sitting president would have had to give the go ahead. I watched the speech. He wasn’t taking credit. He gave credit to our intelligence forces as he should have. Bush put it in place. Obama followed it but through it all the military persevered to accomplish it.
So...does this make OBL a victim of a hate crime? Was he Mirandized? Where’s the ACLU?
As a Canadian, you are probably not aware that Hawaiians are not exactly know for working quickly. It took them two years to come up with a Birth Certificate. In fact, Hawaiians are sort of known for not working at all.

But I have to say, Obama's credit grabbing was pathetic. "I first learned of the intel...I ordered a team on a mission...I analyzed the data...I gave the order...I smelted the lead that was used to make the bullets... I placed the sun into position to assure daylight hours."
Maybe a little more credit to the guys who actually delivered the metal into the body, at great personal risk to themselves, was in order.
Looks like Obama’s going to have to give back his Nobel Peace Prize.
I glad used that term. He has outed himself in a very uncharacteristic way, as actually being responsible for something. I know what he did is cheap, petty, and childish (very typical), but by saying it this way he has put himself up as the sole guy for the inevitable, predictable, you could almost say daily, 'Muslim Rage'. He kinda stuck his neck out there for the backlash (no pun intended).

I despair at others who shall remain nameless who were so pilitically correct, scared to death of what other countries might think, specially sandmaggot countries, that they were reduced to total paralysis; and total FAIL where it came to Bin Laden.
There is something to be said for the otherwise incompetent with access to unlimited power.

my guess... 0bama has been getting crushed by the BC issue and people were really souring on him. and by that i mean his base. so... he went for the one thing that was red meat to Americans. well, Americans from the center...right. those on the left would have (should have if consistent) mixed/outraged feelings about him being assassinated.
meanwhile, i’m trying to remember the last noble peace prized winner that said “at my direction, we killed him.”
By the time the liberal media gets done with this, not only will Obama be the “hero who killed Bin Laden” — but he will have built the plane, designed the radar, manufactured the bullet and personally pulled the trigger.
Incredibly, he does not credit our "military" in the opening statement.

I’m just happy as heck that monster is dead, and I don’t care who takes credit for it. But obviously if it was left to Dems, they’d still be trying to send FBI agents into the area instead of the military. They stated many times that this should be a criminal operation and not a military matter. Without Bush sending the military in, we never would have gotten Bin Laden.
Pathetic to say the least. It may play well with the Sheeple though.

There are fast field DNA tests that can give you results in less than 12 hours. They compared OBL's DNA to that of his relatives (which they already had on file). So...it's not that unusual. They did the same thing to Saddam Hussein back in 2003.

I suspect -- along with others -- that what was presented as a "live" media address to the nation tonight was actually recorded some time ago.
Short run, he will have bump in polls. but in a couple weeks we will be back at debt limit, rising gas prices, budget, more unrest in middle east and his poll numbers will drop.... Remember GHWB had 90% after gulf war and still lost... GWB had 70% after 9-11 and had caught Sadam in December 2003 and still barely won in 2004...

So far I’ve seen not one report on the reaction in islamic nations, particularly nothing from Pakistan.
I think this has tremendous potential to turn into Obammy's "Mission Accomplished" moment. Too many on the left have long believed that once bin laden was dead, the war would be over. They will be expecting as much, but I don't think the muzzies got that memo.

It's 9:40 a.m. in Pakistan, and earlier in points west of there. The day is just breaking and many from in points west of there, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt etc. are probably just hearing the news.
