Wave a piece of red meat in front of them -- an Alaskan governor holding an American flag and singing "God Bless America" -- and all the tree-hugging, purple-dinosaur, little-blue-unicorns stuff falls away and they turn into red-eyed, flame-snorting, bloodthirsty monsters. Or perhaps we should think instead of a single, billion-handed, billion-legged monster with one brain that does all the thinking from a central Politburo.
That's the Left for you.
Alas, Nikita S. Khrushchev would have been proud and somewhat surprised at the modern American electorate.
