Rowdy protesters in Tucson have struck again. And this time, it involves riot police.
Those protesters are hell-bent on keeping the districts shocking, and concerning, Mexican-American studies program as-is. And while theyre causing a ruckus to prove it, there could be a lot more behind the story mainly, whos behind the protests.
According to Shaw, the students are getting support from more then just one academic. While reviewing footage from the April 26 chain-in, he noticed something interesting. According to him, Ward Churchill (the controversial, one-time University of Colorado professor who was fired for his views on 9/11) was spotted supporting the protests:
So what exactly has the protesters upset? The answer may surprise you. As weve previously reported, the district isnt trying to ban the program outright. Instead, it wants to make a controversial history class that calls for death to the invaders and was found to advocate overthrowing the U.S. government an elective instead of allowing it to substitute for required history credits. Thats it. And the disturbing class would still be available to students.
No wonder Ward Churchill showed up.
So, if there were a KKK or neo-Nazi history class, (supported by tax dollars); would it be ok if we made that class an ‘elective’ too?
I wouldn’t shed a tear if someone gave him the anarchist justice he so richly deserves.
Tucson has turned into LoonyToonsVille. They’ve gone nuts down there.
The “ethnic studies” is merely warmed-over Marxism, and La Raza studies. Tom Horn, the superintendant, decided to cancell this program, so leftist agitators like Churchill and others have come to Tucson to stir up trouble.
I’ll bet these are the same clowns who want to split Pima county off into it’s own state because they’re “embarrassed” at the rest of in AZ.
These are the kinds of classes that would die if the TUSD board made them electives instead of allowing them to substitute for history classes. The classes are only offered in the predominantly Mexican-heritage schools. If that doesn’t say all that needs to be said, then there’s more. There are a ton of elective classes offered in these schools, and the elective classes actually have value for a student’s future. There are great auto tech programs and business/computer programs that give dual credit—high school and college—to students who want to get ahead. There are engineering and robotics classes.
There is no drivers ed in the schools that offer these classes. Now tell me what is more valuable? Teaching illegal alien teens and their American counterparts to drive or teaching separatist ideology? Are sports that keep kids off the streets after school and that teach healthy lifestyles and the importance of making good grades more important than teaching separatist ideology? With all the budget cuts in the state of Arizona, the Tuscon school board must answer these questions. Do they care about the future or do they care about anti-American indoctrination?
BTW, I’m all for teaching illegal alien children to drive properly. It never occurred to me that the reason the non-white majority schools do not have drivers ed could be due to the number of illegal alien children. How can they teach kids to drive who cannot legally get a drivers permit? Ugh.
No, he was fired for "research misconduct", i.e. plagiarism.
Pima county is half right wingers and half left wingers(Thanks to the University of Arizona).
Playing cowboy and fake Indian or cowboy and fake Mexican, makes no difference to me.
You may want to know, Link TV is one of George Soros’ many splinter/front groups.
I watched LINK twice. It is FAR left. In fact it is so far to the left it “ain’t” coming back.
"Death to Invaders."
That would make an interesting south facing sign on the mexican border.
