Spin: With the White House's story about how Osama bin Laden was killed changing by the hour, it's now imperative that the White House show proof he's dead, including photos and DNA analysis.
'There is no doubt that Osama bin Laden is dead," President Obama told "60 Minutes." So releasing a photo of him won't "make any difference."
In fact, there are growing doubts — not just among bin Laden supporters, but also 9/11 families, who demand release of the photos. They're doing so because parts of the White House narrative have proved false.
First we were told a "firefight" consumed most of the 40-minute assault on bin Laden's safe house.
"There were many other people who were armed in the compound" besides bin Laden, White House spokesman Jay Carney said. "There was a firefight."
It turns out bin Laden was unarmed, as were three others killed. U.S. commandos weren't, as the administration claimed, "met with a great deal of resistance."
In fact, there was no firefight. Commandos spent most of the raid gathering computer and other evidence.
Several other threads of the story have unraveled, including White House counterterror adviser John Brennan's claim that bin Laden used his wife as a "shield."

Reuters already released the pics of the three other bodies. I don’t see any mideast countries on fire yet. Just release one photo of Osama so everyone can move on.

Since he ordered his new ROE 2 years ago, our KIA’s doubled in 2009, tripled in 2010 and now on the way to beating that number...his ROE favor the Taliban, they get first shot, they don't have to worry much about air support for the troops, and a[-bamba even wants the troops to show ‘courageous restraint’ , after not being allowed to shoot the enemy coming at him until the enemy has the first shot, show restraint by not shooting back at all!

If you do, then you can justify your point about publishing the OBL death photos. Outside of some Paulbots and ignorant Democrats and Liberals, you will have a hard time getting people here to agree to that idea.

Everything about this total refusal to offer any concrete proof - stinks to high heaven.
At the very least, they should have had an independent source, like Scotland Yard, verify forensically.
By not allowing verification, he's thumbed his nose at all the other countries that also suffered attacks by al Queada.

The accompanying photo - the body language (hardly someone in command, sitting in the corner where he was told and still in golf clothes - corroborates the story. (rumor has it that hitlery leaked the story - she does, after all, have a legitimate score to settle)
perhaps even more ...These cave dwellers respect only strength. Anything else is seen as weakness - and gives them the momentum to attack.
If they see the photos, for one hing, they'll believe He's DEAD and for another, each man - no matter what group he belongs to - still is concerned about no. 1, himself. If they see that photo - they have to think: "If they got him, they can get me. And I really don't want to end up like THAT!"

Everyone is accepting, at face value, that l-bamba suddenly grew up and orchestrated this operation. I think this story is in total character - and the photo corroborates it - sitting sunken down in the corner, a look of total fright and confusion on his face - and still in his golf clothes.
Had he been in charge, he'd be dressed ‘presidentially’ and, presenting a stance of command for the historic photo. (I surmise he was over a hour late to the TV announcement because they had a helleva time getting him to stand up straight.)

Doughty- I think your assumptions and challenge are “bass ackwards”! The Abu Ghraib photos were humiliating to the Arab psyche and generated lots of anger, but photographic evidence of OBL’s demise by a handful of infidels easily invading an impregnable hideout would be demoralizing to his followers. I think that would result in fewer casualties to us, not more... Think about it.

Obama’s so shallow, he probably decided not to release it because Osama didn’t look pretty enough for the camera.
