Skip to comments.(Video)Graphic Artist Questions Obama Birth Cert. Says The Doc Has Been 'Edited In Its Entirety'

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Even after the White House offered up President Obama's birth certificate, there are still those who are questioning it's legitimacy.
One Grand Junction man who works as a graphic artist says he has discovered something strange about the certificate. "There's no doubt that it has been edited and quite significantly," James Colby said.
He's been involved in graphic arts since 2004 and has never had a reason to doubt our president's birthplace. In fact, he says he is politically independent. Yet, Colby says he can't ignore the obvious.
After downloading the birth certificate straight off of the White House's website, he started noticing the apparent flaws in a computer program called Adobe Illustrator.
"Legitimate digitized, scanned documents will always have [a] faded appearance... There are too many jagged features, here." he said as the scoured the certificate. "So, it's not a single document, it's actually 'compositive' layers."
Colby says scanned images should only have one digitized layer. He says President Obama's birth certificate has almost 50 layers. "You can see the layers flash yourself just by rapidly zooming in and out in your web browser. That means that the browser is rendering different layers."
Colby concedes that there are some instances where scanned images produce multiple layers. "It's a program called OCR that converts text in the images into computer readable text," he said. "But, it would never work on signatures. So, the fact that the signatures have been edited discounts the possibility of it being OCR."
Colby continued pointing out the apparent problems. "You'll notice the white background behind these letters, which is also super-imposed, actually covers up a little bit of the 'D' in this word," he explained. "Even his name has been edited, all except for the 'R' in 'Barack.'"
But, Colby can not figure out why the White House would release something so obvious. "The question is why is it so obvious," he said. "Maybe the original certificate was damaged, maybe it was faded, maybe someone was just trying to clean it up. [But,] you'd think if that was the case, they would supply the original certificate just so there would be no suspicions."
Colby says as strange as the edits are, they don't prove a thing. But, he believes that they do point in one direction. "It's definitely been edited in its entirety, so the indication would point to the probability of it being fake," he said. "But, nobody can really make that claim."
Colby isn't alone in believing the birth certificate has been altered. Other graphic artists and various conservative groups from across the country are saying the same thing.
I thought it was established the layers were from OCR?

From the article
Why can’t we see the actual document instead of a digital copy from Obama?
No, they were obfuscation attempts to discredit those pointing out the obvious doctoring of this document
Believing it was an innocent OCR process may mean that person is a candidate to buy swampland.
OCR is not the only way that layers appear in a scanned document, there is also MRC.
One (OCR) creates layers of text from document so readers (like a .pdf reader) can have content that can be searched. MRC (link above) breaks the image into multiple layers to compress it while retaining quality. At that, if you look at the link above, you’ll see a lot of the same things pointed out like the ‘white out’ look some have found.
Neither of these items are isolated, they both occur when scanning documents into a filing system like a Keyfile system.
I suggest reading the link above. The problem is graphic artists only work with documents one way, creating layers themselves. They may never have worked with a Keyfile type system to bring in documents for data storage and don’t realize it also creates layers.
Why would there be 50 layers? Not only is this document very suspicious, but it looks to be created by someone who isn't very skilled in Photoshop.
Wow, a local news team actually is doing some investigative reporting. Imagine that!
Should send this video far and wide to everyone you know and ask them the question, why Obama still has not provided a copy of the original document.
My question is, why would they list the father’s birthplace as Kenya in 1961 when the Republic of Kenya wasn’t formed until 1963?
Read the MRC information link in post #9.
Read post 16.
(And he was armed fired at us and ran. No he was unarmed and hid behind a woman. No wait, he shoved the woman and ran, but was unarmed. Just wait until you see the pictures. Wait, there's not gonna be any pictures...)
Would a digital copy as presented hold up in a court of law? If not, he has not presented a legal document.
If the Obamaniods want to prove their point, they have to show us exactly how just by scanning an image and saving it as a pdf file caused the multiple layers that resulted in exactly the same as the Obama birth certificate. They have to show us that it was just an “innocent optimization feature” that caused the layers to do exactly what happened in Obama’s alleged birth certificate. So far, they have giving people some razzle-dazzle nonsense hoping people will buy their BS.
National Review did this a few weeks ago with the cover of one of their magazines.
Seen it. It is BS.
Wasn’t Kenya a British colony, and was called Kenya then also?
Some former colonies changed names, such as Tanganyika becoming Tanzania when it became independent. But I think Kenya was called Kenya when it was a colony.
Kenya been called Kenya for a long time.
Sounds like a fake created in 1938 to anticipate the birth of Obama some 30 years later.
Hello OBot. It's real. If you don't believe that picture, You can go to the National Geographic website and look for yourself at a 1960 vintage map of Kenya. Here's a screen grab for convenience.
No embossed seal? It makes one think.....
One of many problems with Obama's "new" birf certificate.
It has to be a paper copy with a raised seal to be legal evidence.
Obama will never be anything but a lowlife conspirator liar.
Does the birth certificate correlate with the hospital records? Are the Nordyke twins and Obama on some register at the hospital that corroborates the BC? I mean, you would think this would be more convincing proof than a document that can be forged.
Because WE are just mere mortals.
April 27th is not a few weeks ago.
How ‘bout THAT, Mr. Fung!!??
I won’t believe the OCR story until someone shows a video of the following:
1. A copy of the birth certificate coming out of a high-quality printer
2. That copy being scanned in a high-quality scanner
3. The scanned copy being opened in Adobe Illustrator
4. The scanned copy showing identical layers
Until it’s proven by demonstration, it’s not a legit theory.
I hope that answers your question about what OCR software is capable of doing these days. In fact, it was doing that before I retired!
They have machinery in mail processing centers that can detect anthrax bacteria. It can also detect thousands of chemicals, and millions of other viruses and bacteria.
The big one is explosives though ~ always some nutcase out there who thinks he can slip a letter bomb into the system. Does not happen!
So far no one has come forward with the information about what "they" did at the Board of Health when the decision was made to permanently digitize their birth records.
Ordinarily source documents like that would be kept a few years "just in case" then burned or turned into cellulose additive for soil conditioning.
Since the first thread on this topic I've suspected most of the folks looking into it have absolutely no idea how advanced data storage and retrieval has become, nor even how advanced it was even back in 1961.
Really good systems are invisible ~ the people using them, inputting data, pulling out reports, working with the system simply never encounter some process that doesn't look familiar. It'll be a key entry, a picture, a printout of some kind ~ even though in reality the system might even have some sort of superfast holographic memory unit somewhere.
And shortly after the birth certificate was released I heard a lot of stories about how journalists were invited to come look at the two paper copies retrieved from Hawaii, yet none of the stories actually named who the ‘journalists’ were nor in which room the supposed viewing was held. Any FReepers have details on that aspect of the story?
Thanks in advance.
The way it is done professionally in the software industry to correct glitches and other software problems with patches, they have recreate the programming errors as they were reported in the field. If they can't be recreated, then they can't fix the errors.
There is hardly a difference here. For the OBots to prove that Obama's BC was innocently caused by some automatic function or other innocent software feature, they have to recreate the same set of circumstances to prove their point. The guy from NRO held in example by the Obots doesn't even come close to doing so. He doesn't use the same BC form, but a cover of a magazine, and it still doesn't act or load the same way that Obama birth certificate PDF file. It is nonsense to fool the people who do not know any better. It's pure BS.
I used to read his piece every morning when it appeared (Tuesday I think) in the Indianapolis Star~ way back when I was in gradeschool ~ well before 1961. He wrote a Novel in 1955 about the Mau Mau in Kenya which he referred to as "Kenya". He also wrote Uhuru.
FOr Robert Ruark Kenya was a very real place long before independence in 1963.
You're kidding us, right? You didn't think they came up with the name Kenya until the date of independence?
Ruark was a pretty good writer. He could have stood his own ground in any internet thread.
We have a criminal and a total defrauder in the White House. Somebody slipped up and forgot to flatten the phony BC document before releasing it to the public.
I believe the Ben Laden thing is a scheme to take the attention off of the phony BC document and raise Obumba’s ratings. Call me a kook, but there it is. When all is said and done truth will come out. God will win.
This video (the first of 4) shows the same thing in much greater detail with a much more thorough explanation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s9StxsFllY&feature=youtu.be
Oh, and the issue of OCR came up and was thoroughly debunked.
Butter and several others looked into what happened to the records after they reached a certain age. But you seem to imply that you know how it was done:
“Since the first thread on this topic I’ve suspected most of the folks looking into it have absolutely no idea how advanced data storage and retrieval has become, nor even how advanced it was even back in 1961. “
Fill us in please.
BTW, I personally know two people that have visited the Dept. of Health in Honolulu - both have said how very run down and out of date the place is.
They are so broke there that they have unpaid furlough days.
In July ‘09, Janice Okubo acting as spokesperson for the Dept. of Health stated; “We don’t destroy vital records, that’s our whole job, to maintain and retain vital records.”
Original records are rarely destroyed even after being put on microfilm, or digitally copied. HI has not confirmed that the originals have indeed been destroyed - not that I have heard. Butter may know something different.
Want a quick peek inside the DOH?
You don’t see much of it, but you can get a sense that it’s not a nice, modern updated place at all. This is only a tiny piece of the whole film - one day I’ll put a bit more up if anyone wants to see it.
The notice on one clerks window states they don’t take credit or debit cards. OMG!! They don’t even have that capability.
The layers are not the thing. The Actions and backgrounds show that it is a composite; but not certain evidence of fraud.
You should post this everywhere. I don’t think many people are aware of this controversy.
Hey this was settled a couple weeks ago, it is magic, plain and simple. Now I am off to have some free BubbleUp and Rainbow Stew.
Hawaii just recently passed legislation that prohibits the production of long form birth certificates, I can’t imagine why they would have done that?
What do you think of the Nordyke twins' documents? Were they original enough for you?
Don't you think it might be a good idea to at least Google Kenya and look at the first reference?
Suggesting that no one referred to Kenya as Keyna before 1963 makes us look like a bunch of fools here.
