President Obama today privately thanked the Navy SEALs who cornered and killed Osama bin Laden, congratulating them for a "job well done."

The president met the elite Team 6 squad on the same day that bin Laden's terror network, al Qaeda, admitted that its leader was dead. Al Qaeda vowed that it would try to make America pay for his death.

Among the team members the president met was the SEAL who fired the shot that killed bin Laden, though he was not told which one it was, according to administration sources.

The primary opposition to this plan originated from Valerie Jarrett, and it was her opposition that was enough to create uncertainty within President Obama.

The comrade in chief wants a big photo op, however the secretive seals don’t fit into that scenario. To primarily benefit him politically, he would have liked to have had a big photo op with the seals, but he had to settle for a 101st airborne photo op instead, having met the seals privately (with emphasis on the privately) beforehand at Ft. Cambell.

I think I’d use that excuse too if I were the seals. I rather doubt they are all that fond of the comrade in chief.

Why are all the news crews saying Obama addressed the SEALS "at their base at Fort Campbell?"

The SEALS are not based at Fort Campbell, though the NightStalkers and 5th Special Forces Group are.

Were they flown in special for the meet-up, or did they do their de-brief at Campbell or what?

WOW. It seemed to me all along that Obama was dragged into it.....also Wikileaks, on April 25th leaked the Abu Faraj-al-Libi file, detailing what we knew, including the identity of the courier. This may have caused the national security leaders to rachet things up even more. Interesting the weather was NOT bad the previous day,

Also the Obama shot during the raid, "the smallest man in the room" in that photo, with eyes smoldering, take on a new significance.

The only way to tell which SEAL fired the shot would be if you could go to a bar with them. The guy who never paid for a drink is the shooter.
