Just got done listening to Juan Williams praising our speaker for putting us filthy tea partiers in our place.

However, Williams did unknowingly expose a truth. We aren’t pressuring our congressmen the way we should. We need to get back out in the streets and to our townhall meetings and flog our congresscritters into line.

You’re right. I hope West does the right thing. We need him...a lot.

He maybe. Yet, obamaCare has got to go. I don't care if they wittily away. I want it gone 100%. He is not willing apparently to vote to defund in bits which then in turn leads to no dismantling.

“Congressman West has done a lot to earn my admiration and trust. This particular instance is not going to be something that makes me abandon him. I believe that there is more to this than reported and than we are aware. And I believe there is a damned good reason for it.”

He has earned mine as well that is why I posted the information, I want to be wrong in my knee jerk reaction and hear what others have to say.

The problem with conservatives is that they don’t stand behind the people they elect. The Democrats, on the other hand, are fanatical. They will support the biggest dummies of their party.

I’d suggest you check out Allen West’s website and read for yourself. I think you may find that his point is they are focusing on a dead horse when there are more important issues that needs their attention at the moment. I like and trust Allen West. I’m sure he had his reasons, which is not being spelled out in the article. He is a conservative not GOP.

"He also questioned the House’s continued efforts to dismantle the healthcare law on a piecemeal basis, she said.

Pick at the monstrosity like a gnat and keep the majority of the socialist fascist thing in the long run, yea...we know the plan jokers.

Other important issues sure-but what would it have hurt him to vote FOR the bill? That is what I do not understand

There is no perfect person, folks.

The sooner this is understood by conservatives, the better.

Shrug.

My pledge to the people of the 22nd District is simple-once elected I will do everything in my power to repeal the repugnant portions of this monstrous piece of legislation."

The problem with conservatives is that they don’t stand behind the people they elect.

I would say that it is divided on that matter. Some don’t stand behind, some merely voted for the politician as the lesser of two evils, and some, such as myself, know the principles of my own concern, and can weigh out whether or not I vote for the politician, or his/her re-election. With at least a few, they do struggle in somewhat of their promised direction, and that counts.

Regarding the Democrats, they’re going in the direction to find their own equivalent of Richard Nixon sooner or later, as far as I can see.

>>> ...but hold off knee jerking until we see the big picture. >>>

That’s good advice. Keep in mind that the bill passed and that West KNEW it would pass without him. He might be trying to send a message with his vote.
There’s no way to know whether he would have voted against it if his vote were needed.

I advise the Freepers who like to chunk folks overboard the very second they cast a vote they don’t understand to consider this possibility. I don’t know if this is the case, but I do know West knew it would pass regardless.

Agreed. West is simply standing on the principle of TOTAL REPEAL of this POS legislation.

>> but maybe we could drop the knee-jerk reactions

That would be nice, but I expect plenty more to follow.

I don’t agree with West’s decision on face value, but I trust him no less than the greatest Conservative in politics today.

West may also be mistaken about the logistics of tackling the multitude of problems created by the Marxists that surround us all. It would be good to challenge his decisions instead of condemning the man.

Since a total repeal was voted down by the Senate, what recourse other than a chipping away, piecemeal, is possible? The logic of West’s spokesperson is not clear to me.
