The Washington Posts managing editor, Raju Narisetti, opened his Twitter account on Monday morning with an anti-Defense Department, pro-Education Department tweet.
Thought encounter of the day: Would be good if our schools are fully funded and DoD has to hold a bake sale to buy its next fighter jet, Narisetti tweeted.
The Post newsroom boss absolves any comments he makes that would question his self-proclaimed objectivity by issuing a disclaimer at the top of his Twitter account, in which he describes himself as Managing Editor, The Washington Post.
Any perceived opinions are accidental and links are not endorsements, Narisetti describes himself as in his Twitter account. I am never speaking for The Post.

Wonder if he pulled any muscles trying to pat hisself on the back for just being so darned clever....
“Wonder if he pulled any muscles trying to pat hisself on the back for just being so darned clever....”
That stupid joke is at least 25 years old, so he’s not clever at all.
Uh, yeah - he just happens to work there ....
Stupid lefty, if it weren’t for the military his pathetic buttocks wouldn’t have that nice cushy job, and there would be no education of our children. Thank a soldier don’t try to cut his job, you bastard!
The ComPost is rarely accused of encountering serious thought.
The words Washington Post and objectivity together in the same sentence...
“Would be good if our schools are fully funded and DoD has to hold a bake sale to buy its next fighter jet,”
One would think the managing editor of a major American newspaper could come up with something a little less banal than a 30+ year old bumper-sticker.
Note to WaPo:
National Defense is a Constitutional responibilty of the Federal government.
Education is NOT!
The Feds inserted themselves to expedite their socialist agenda.
It would probably be the best allocation of resources to have the bomber take out the school.
I have an old friend, a close acquaintance, who is a “not unimportant” reporter for one of the three biggest daily newspapers in America. Perhaps the one mentioned here. This person is brilliant, and is also a viciously (shockingly so) angry and outspoken leftist. This person also believes (him or herself) to be an “objective” journalist. It’s enough to make your head spin. They really do not believe they are biased. They really do not believe their opinions cloud their reporting and editing. They really, really believe WE are hateful, evil, racist, dangerous, stupid pigs. They really do.
He should be fired for the sheer banality of this tweet. The phrase is so worn out, such a bromide, that even gray, balding, dirty, haven't-left-the-commune-in-40 years Hippies are embarassed to use it.
And this is the guy who is supposed to provide insightful commentary from a fresh perspective to readers???
Increased funding for schools only results in higher teacher pay, or more teachers/aides, not the quality of education. Teaching to the lowest level in each class doesn’t raise the quality.
BTTT!
Mr. Narisetti, would it even be legal for the DoD to do any fundraising from sources other than Congress? Wouldn’t that open up the possibility of bribes and corruption?
Also, no matter how much money taxpayers give to schools, it is never enough. The education establishment always wants more.
So, your thought encounter is 100% bogus. Whose thoughts were they, anyway? Dennis Van Roekel and Cindy Sheehan?
I'm shocked.
All the Leftwingtards suffer from a combination of psychological and neurological impairments. None of them should be allowed out in public without a keeper.
I was going to point out how old the saying was, but people have beat me to it. So I’ll just point out this:
our schools ARE fully funded, the money is just not wisely spent.
Perhaps this would make a better bumper sticker:
Wouldn’t it be nice if education quality was related to the amount of money spent per pupil?
Actually, it usually leads to higher administrator pay and greater administration staffing.
More teacher pay would be an improvement—if it were allocated in a smart way, such as hiring experienced professionals in a field at a reasonable salary instead of the union-bargained entry-level point. Unfortunately, it’s not allocated that way, so we get highly paid incompetents and block entry of high-quality, experienced people.
