We need to get down on our knees and thank God that Obama beat that bastard McCain.

No we don't. You of course can if you wish. Don't forget your prayer rug.

Third parties have no structural utility under our Constitution and are simply a way to separate fools from their money.

Luckily, no one has yet chimed in with the historical canard that the GOP was once a third party (it wasn't) or the trivial historical truism that our Constitution does not contemplate parties.

I once argued passionately for third parties. When I ran as a third party candidate (no, I had no chance, but it was educational), I discovered how difficult it is to generate the infrastructure to win. A third party might well emerge over time, but 2012 sweeps down quickly upon us, and there is no way a third party now will do anything but siphon off vital conservative votes. A better strategy is to "help" some liberal third parties get on the ballot and draw off some single issue voters, like the "greens." That would be both fun and effective.

Good way to re-elect the one. The chosen one the only one! I don’t think I could handle 4 more years of stagnation!

Voters are at the end of their rope with politicians that promise change then go back to Washington and don't do anything.

Not (D)s. They would vote for Hitler if he was the (D) nominee although bitch'in at the polls.

The tax code is designed for one thing and one thing only. To punish the rich and pay off the poor. The ruling class doesn’t give a sh!+ about the revenue from the tax code. If they want pretty polly* they print it. Or they borrow it. The only reason they want to raise taxes is so they can control you just a little bit more.

*Pretty Polly, from A Clockwork Orange, is some weird cockney slang for money.

"For first time, majority of Republicans support third party"

We'll call this new third party The Republican Party.

That’s crazy talk. People expect too much out of the president. McCain would have been a decent manager of the system, and that’s really the most important thing a president has to do. The o bomb has pissed all over the system, and pissed all over the US American pipple.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m of the strong belief that this system is not sustainable, and that things WILL fall apart. The union is going to fall apart. Then the opposing forces will gather to their strongholds, and then the wars will begin.

"Geez. I hope that is sarcasm'

Read my tag line.

We give the DNC the election every 4 years as we await Reagan to rise from the dead to sit on Tom Jefferson Throne.

There are many here that would rather have had Algore than that RINO Bush!

“That’s a sign that the present republican field is not good enough.”

It’s more than just the present Republican field, the entire “leadership” is not good enough. They are absolutely spineless; can’t even halt funding for the discredited PBS or Plannned Parenthood. Supporting the Party only encourages more caving and failure.

Yeah, and their analysis even reflects that people’s opinions of it vary over time. I would put it more that, during the Bush regime, I was still itching for a third party, but I wasn’t expressing it as much. Now I feel that there isn’t time for a slow-motion infiltration of conservatives - the incumbents have the deck too stacked in their favor. No, it may be time for conservatives to gather their strength, and if we feel we’ve been screwed again by the Republicans, we may very well move in favor of a third party.

“Yes, Obama and liberals will have more time in office due to this, as it cannot succeed overnight, but enough of the “vote for the lesser of two evils” BS.”

That’s exactly what the phrase “lesser of two evils” is. Pure BS! Since no politician is perfect, every vote you cast is for a “lesser of two evils”.

We need to make sure that a good candidate is nominated. That’s what primaries are for.

“HE turns it around and says, aw, well, we’re only one house, and the rats have got the Senate and the WH.”

Notice Boeher wasn’t crying about the presumed limitation of only having “one half of one third of the government” BEFORE the November election. He sprung this little excuse on us AFTER the election so he could go back to business as usual.

Better yet, force the RINOs to form their own third party.

The foundation is already in place...that 'No Labels' bunch...

If Palin ran as a 3rd party candidate she wouldn’t have to go through the primaries and I assume could announce as late as summer 2012. Is that correct?

I guess that getting on the ballot would take time but Perot did it. I don’t remember when Perot actually got in the race.

I am a Palin supporter and I think one of her biggest weapons in this war against Obama is the Hail Mary blitkrieg announcement at the last minute scenario. No one else has that card except maybe Trump. None of the others would desert the GOP to join the tea party people and indies.
