I’ve read plenty of posts on FR about people not voting for Romney because of his “cult”. Others, because of his politics, but many because of his religion.

The COS comment, perhaps verbatim as you have phrased it, has come up multiple times on FR. I can’t agree more that Newt would be the greatest pubbie thought factory ever to support a president.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think these losers running for POTUS, who must know from the getgo they have the chance of an ice cube in hell, are really jockeying for future assignments, be there in the media, K Street, or in the next administration, if their side happens to win, that is to say, the whole campaign’s purpose to keep one’s name in the news until the election.

You and me make two non-votes for Mr. AGW Believer.

Let him get it out of his system early - and then let it die.

Newt is very smart and he is a great historian,... He's also a supreme serial adulterer and uber-RINO. Great credentials - not!

If only Pence hadn’t dropped out before he began. He’s the only one that really had me excited as far as a viable candidate. No one else comes close.

the fact that Romney managed to get elected in MA is enough reason for me not to vote for him....as a former resident of the state I wouldn’t want any former governor of Taxachussetts to be sitting in the oval office
only person I can see generating any kind of interest for me on the republican ticket right now is Sarah... hope she is just biding her time.
To: anniegetyourgun
Newt WON’T be the nominee. He has too much baggage, is disliked by too many, and has burned too many bridges... like McCain. Oh, wait....

Sorry Newt, but NO. The establishment GOP is part of the problem that got us here.
Time for a new party (TEA) and new blood (that continues to be libeled against).

You're close. Here's what I think: Newt's an idea guy. He generates tons of ideas. Some of them are brilliant; some of them are terrible. What he's missing is the ability to tell the difference. I think you've hit on a great description, xjcsa.
The answer to a decade and a half of wondering, "How can he be so smart and so stupid?!" summed up.

Newt? Sorry. Smart guy. RINO with TOO much baggage.
