President Obama took Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood golfing today -- message received: LaHood is safe in his job -- and capped an eventful week with dinner out. From the pool report:
"POTUS and FLOTUS emerged from the south portico at 7.52 p.m., and the (motorcade) traveled in three minutes to 12th and F, N.W, where the First Couple entered Tosca, an Italian restaurant. FLOTUS is wearing a dark-leather jacket."
Tosca. Hm. Is this a Mother's Day treat, a celebration, an effort to mellow and unwind after an eventful week? The POTUS gave no indication.
UPDATE:
The President and the First Lady emerged from Ristorante Tosca at 9.41, and embarked on their limo to make their way home. The President waved at a few onlookers to his left on 12th street, and then waved twice at more numerous onlookers on 11th street.
The President and First Lady were not visibly accompanied by guests.
The vehicles stopped at at least two traffic lights, extending the trip back home to 5 minutes.
You would think the President would want to mull over everything that we know about the entire operation. Naw....a 20 minute flick was good enough for him.

Saw LaHoodie on CNBC this morning. What a clown. He obviously thinks taxpayer $$ is something that falls from the sky for Democrats to use to buy votes.
I love that restaurant. I had some truffle tortellini there one time that was among the best things I have ever eaten in my life. It was divine. I am sure it is served in heaven. Also: good wine.
Difference is you paid for the dinner on your own dime, not the taxpayers...

President Obama is playing his usual course at Andrews Air Force Base with two of his usual foursome – White House aide Marvin Nicholson and Energy Department official David Katz – as well as guest golfer Ray LaHood, the secretary of transportation.
This is, BTW, the sixth weekend in a row Obama has played, the ninth time this year, and the 67th time Obama has been golfing as president.
