Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver have announced they are separating after 25 years of marriage.
In a shock announcement the couple, who have four children together, released a joint statement saying they were living apart while they 'worked on the future' of their marriage.
Shriver helped bolster Schwarzenegger's campaign eight years ago to become California Governor.
She stood by the Terminator actor at the time amid claims he groped a string of women during his movie career.
The Los Angeles Times broke the story late on Monday night saying that Shriver is 'moving out of their Brentwood mansion while the two determine the next step in their 25-year marriage'.
The newspaper said Shriver has been living apart from the Terminator actor-turned-politician for the last few weeks.
The former First Couple confirmed their separation in a joint statement released on Monday night after questions were raised by The Times.
'This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us, the statement read.
'After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together.
'At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship.'

LOL. I remember when T3 came out and in the movie when Arnold as a Terminator arrives from the future and they had digitally placed his current face on a massively computer enhanced naked body that looked like him when he was 25 years old.
And Arnold was trying to claim in the interviews it was his real body and hadn’t been altered in anyway with technology.
That NOW picture came out soon after T3 and the National Equirer called him the “Tummynator”.

Maria is a devout Catholic, and would not separate for a frivolous reason.

Most lib ‘devout’ Catholics are not so devout.

I figure that Maria has been in charge for some time. She/they have finished the destruction of California so what is there left to do? I am very sorry to see a ‘long term’ marriage end. I hope their kids are strong enough to withstand the unhappiness.
