A GOP candidate being “less bad” than the single most Socialist President ever isn’t going to get very far.

Here’s to hoping he drops out fast. He wasn’t good enough to beat a very tepid John McCain. That should tell us more than enough about him as a candidate.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. The fact is Huckabee pardoned over 1000 criminals while in office.

The former religious leader and Presidential candidate in 2008 for the GOP, Mike Huckabee was the Governor of Arkansas in the year 2000, and he was the man who pardoned Maurice Clemmons who was arrested for robbery.

Maurice Clemmons already had a arm’s length rap sheet full of previous and numerous offenses and charges and was a hardened career criminal. These are not the type of offenders you let out on the street again as we say with the Connecticut slayings of a mom and her two daughters by Steven Hayes.

Clemmons like Steven Hayes made a career out of criminal activity from robbery, rape, theft, burglary, arson and continued their criminal activities all their lives.

Clemmons at the time of Huckabee’s pardon, had been given 95 years in prison which is where he should have been on Sunday November 29, 2009 when he shot in cold blood four police officers in Lakewood, Washington.

Huckabee took it upon himself to have a schedule of clemencies while the Governor’s office that worked out to 1 pardon every four days of his term.

Was Huckabee just being a religious forgiving kind of guy or was he soft on crime or both is anyone’s guess. But pardoning a career criminal after a sentence that long overriding what a judge had ordered was a big mistake that cost four police officers lives.

Then there is Wayne DuMond, a murderer and rapist, pardoned by Huck, who then went to Kansas City to rape and murder again.

Huck is either incompetent, naive, indifferent, or a poor judge of character, or all of the above. I would vote for obama before voting for Huck.

I ain’t your follower and I ain’t gonna say that. As long as some of the Republicans FOLLOW what the Democrats want, they are RINOs. Huckabee wants to allow the people who are here illegally to become citizens of this country. He knows the rules but he ain’t following them. Democrats don’t follow the rules and they are really stupid.

Get over yourself, man.

For gosh sakes, Bill Clinton was selling AIDS tainted blood from the state prison to Canada!

"The Huck" was a step up ~ and a bunch of those guys pardoned would likely have never been imprisoned even in Virginia, and we imprison and execute a lot of nasty folks ~ regularly hold the national record for that sort of thing. And you? I say roll out ol'sparky and get started getting rid of the bad guys.

"The Huck" made a mistake with that guy but he'd had to have had detailed knowledge of the future to have made a different decision at the time.

Part of the reason those cops got killed was they lived in Washington State. The Democrat regime out there doesn't train them to be on guard against marauders ~ then when they go out someplace to shoot someone they find a student playing a re-enactment game running around with an old musket. More recently a Seattle cop jumped out of his car and ran down the street and shot a man to death for whittling while walking.

I'd blame a lot of the killing on the police there ~ more time on the range, better qualification tests, and a number of other things would have kept them alive and probably put the perp back in prison or left him dead.

Romney is just as big a liar as McCain and Huckabee.

To me, that is what is important.

The characteristics you have mentioned are in my opinion, of no consequence and would not have any weight in my decision making process.

Sure you are ~ there's been a campaign to use the acronymn RINO instead of "left wing" and all its variations.

“I am baptist and everyone I know thinks he is a phoney”

I’m Southern Baptist and we don’t talk about the issue of whether we like Huckabee or not. We don’t go to church for political reasons. You sound like a BINO.....Baptist in name only. Or maybe you are the phoney? I mean, anyone can say “I am a Baptist.”

I honestly don’t know what my fellow SB’s think. Personally, I’m not that impressed with him, but I don’t dislike him as you apparently do. I certainly don’t think he is a “phoney.” He may be “wrong” on issues, but I don’t question his sincerity. Also, I don’t see him as sinister. Personally, I consider those that do to be unhinged and given to hyperbole.

Right now, if he wants my vote, he is going to have to show me he is a true social conservative and not waffle. I felt he did nothing to try and stop the repeal of DADT back in December. However, Palin didn’t do anything either. Either will have to earn my vote by backing some issues and opposing others. I am a pure social conservative. I believe if you get the moral issues right, everything else (like the economy) will fall into place.
