White House calls rapper Common ’socially conscious,’ opposes cop killing lyrics (B.S Alert)

The White House is standing behind its decision to welcome rapper Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr., AKA “Common,” to Washington, D.C. Wednesday night amidst controversy over the hip hop artist’s lyrics which include support for violence against cops and former President George W. Bush.

“The president opposes those kinds of lyrics,” said Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary.

Despite that opposition, Carney indicated that Common would still be welcome at “An Evening of Poetry at the White House” tonight.

“He’s known as a socially conscious hip hop artist or rapper, who in fact, has done, a lot of good things,” offered Carney. “You can oppose some of what he’s done and appreciate some of the other things he’s done.”

So let's see--Saran Palin is guilty of using "inciting" language by using the common political term of "targeting" Congressional districts, but a guy who advocates the murder of George W. Bush and law enforcement officers is to be welcomed to the White House with open arms. So much for that Obama civility he hypocritically preached post Tuscon, but I guess he rang whatever political mileage he could out of civility and doesn't need it any longer.

If the White House opposes cop killing lyrics, then they'd disinvite this cockroach from the People's House. You can't have it both ways. And by the way, what exactly has this low life done that we need to appreciate? Denigrating our culture? Furthering the culture of violence and hatred in minority communities? Coarsening our national discourse?

When this comes up in 2012 the kenyan will simply say “just because I was in the same room doesn’t mean I heard what he was saying.” (ala Wright etc)

“O” and Lynn are the same identical crud. So, “O” sees nothing wrong with the guy.

Time to get out the old BS Meter.

A socially conscious rapper? No such thing.

I keep thinking if this were G.W. and he had a racist entertainer at the Whitey House - the media, the RATS would be going bananas, Hell I remember when G. W. was going to speak at Bob Jones University - you would think the way the media reacted he was attending a KKK rally.
This whole thing with the media and racist RATS stinks to high heaven.

Roses are Red
Sunflowers are Yellow
Barack H. Obama
Is one ‘Common’ Fellow.

So, what do you think my chances of being invited to “An Evening of Poetry at the White House”.

I bet they would describe Rev Wright as “socially conscious” as well.

Such scum being allowed to run and ruin or country is unforgivable.

The Obamas make me want to puke.

You mean all those Unionized Law Enforcement Officers (ULEOs) have to accept a rapper advocating for their killing?

Oh well, nothing else for them to do but pull the Democrat lever at the election polls. Because that's what union personnel do. Vote Democrat.

Obama embraces the hate, racism and violence perpetuated by the New Black Panthers, gangster rappers and Reverend Wright, secure in the knowledge that anyone who points that out will be branded a racist by the left and MSM.

If GWB had Lee Greenwood at the WH singing “God Bless the USA” the Democrat/Progressive/Socialist Party-media would be having a major fit.

if some white guy rapped about burning obama, the secret service would have his socially conscious a$$ in jail by sundown.

One of the worst insults that my grandmother could hurl at someone was to say that they were, “common”. Methinks this rapper is aptly named.

If I decide to rob a bank tomorrow I’m using this defense. The bank robbing will not represent all of my work, most of which is socially conscious.
