Senate Democrats: So, Who's Up For A $2 Trillion Tax Hike?
Townhall ^ | 5/11/11 | Guy Benson

Remember that 2012 budget alternative Senate Democrats have been so fidgety about releasing to the public? We now know why they aren't especially eager to share their grand blueprint with taxpayers: Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) on Tuesday presented a budget proposal to Senate Democrats that calls for an even balance — 50 percent to 50 percent — of spending cuts and tax increases to reduce the deficit. The emerging consensus on Capitol Hill is there should be at least $4 trillion in deficit reduction over the next 10 years. To meet that goal, Congress would have to increase tax

Cool your jets, the GOP only control the House, and that for only the last four months. The Dems control the Senate and have for over four years. Obama controls the WH and has for over two years. This is going to take time. There is no quick fix.

Democrats first double spending and then say they’ll compromise by cutting spending by the same amount they increase taxes to be “fair” and “balanced”...

Never mind they doubled spending in the first place and that by doing that it was the root cause of the budget crises to begin with.

Its a bit like killing your parents and then demanding public assistance because you’re an orphan...

Please repeat this as many times as it takes the skulls full of mush inside the beltway to hear it and understand it.

WE DO NOT HAVE A REVENUE PROBLEM, WE HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM.

Does this mean that they’re going to raise taxes on all the deadbeats that make up the base of the democrat party to match the rate paid by Bill Gates?

Didn’t Reagan fall for that crap 30 years ago?

"Sure there is. Keep dreaming. Keep rationalizing. And have a good Summer. Your Heros are Junk" I'm nether dreaming or rationalizing just stating the facts. They are not my Heroes, yet. They are just ordinary people, new to the job who have a lot to do against an entrenched and fanatical opponent. Please to not call them junk they most certainly do not deserve that from a fellow conservative, if that is what you truly are.

The great Walter E. Williams is against a balanced budget amendment because if they have an obscenely high budget, it would still have to be funded and balanced. Cuts, deep massive cuts are the way to go.

So, how much would your share of $0 be? Or, phrased differently, how much wealth would you create if the government promised to take all of it?

Did nobody click thru and read the entire article...which spelled out a Republican Senate plan...and featured some serious tax cuts!?

How about some comments on that...

The great Milton Friedman came up with the idea. It really depends on how the amendment is written. A few states already have one, so use the wording that is already proven.
