Obama still running neck and neck with unnamed Republican candidate

Given a choice between Barack Obama and an unnamed Republican, 43% of registered voters say they are more likely to vote for Obama and 40% are more likely to vote for the Republican. This is essentially unchanged from April and February, when voters' preferences were evenly split.

Trend: 2012: Barack Obama vs. Generic Republican -- Based on Registered Voters

Track election 2012 data >
The May 5-8 Gallup poll, conducted after the death of Osama bin Laden, did not pick up the same rally effect in support for Obama's re-election as Gallup Daily tracking has found in the president's job approval rating.

The two-percentage-point increase in support for Obama's re-election over the past month, from 41% in the April 20-22 poll to 43% today, is not statistically significant...

“I agree. As long as the new parties start from below, bottom up, not jump to presidential races. “

Agreed.

This fantasy that a third party can win the white house from Obama is massively dangerous.

It’s Obozo’s dream for a PeROT factor again.
Pretty much guarantees he wins, and we lose our country for sure.

The good news is that there is still plenty of time for him to keep running the numbers negative. He needs no help from anyone. Obama says he's doing fine All By Myself.

Okay, okay, I got it right this time. The good news is that there is still plenty of time for him to keep running the numbers negative. He needs no help from anyone. Obama says he's doing fine All By Myself.

I no longer trust polls.

Me neither. They are designed to deceive.

Polls are mfg’d bullsh!t with a hint of truth to give them legitimacy.

It's just another tool they use to spread their propaganda. The clueless believe it and make the MSM prophesy come true. It worked for many w/their 'everything is wrong w/Bush' and the same media gave us Barry.

We went to a wedding on the other coast shortly after 9/11 (flew into Logan no less) and decided to make the flight even more worthwhile by adding in sight seeing in the northeast for another week.

Pretty much all the motels had big “special deals” and most had signs out that said, “Thank you for traveling.”

Inflation prevents the special deals this time, but you can bet tourist oriented businesses will be grateful for anyone who does manage to travel.

I hope whoever does travel will remember to comment in front of as many people as possible, “I can’t take much more of this fundamental change.”
