Will teachers' message change hearts or harden them?

The exhortation, intoned with the moral authority of a preacher who has marched for justice, whipped up the crowd.

"This is holy work!" the Rev. James Lawson said Monday to 1,000 teachers as they prepared to march on the Capitol. "You are about holy business! You are walking on holy ground as you confront the economic domination and the exploitation of the poor by the rich!"

Lawson, who worked with the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., was one of several religious and labor leaders who cast California's fiscal battle in stark moral terms at the California Teachers Association's noon rally: Rich vs. poor. Greedy Wall Street vs. working-class public servants. Anti-tax politicians vs. California's future – its kids.

"Amen!" "Shame!" shouted CTA marchers.

"I've never seen things take this (religious) tone," said Del Campo High School English teacher Ed Burger after the rally. "But this is an issue of social justice. . . .

Rev. James Lawson is not a follower of Jesus the Christ.

He is however a follower of Karl Marx.

Aren’t these the same people who won’t let a single word of religious worship be spoken in their school buildings?

Odd. Any port in a storm, I guess.

It's Marxism and socialism that many of the teachers are teaching that brings no sympathy from me. The brain washing our children have been subject to for years have destroyed the few good teachers we have. Billions have been poured into the system and many of the students coming out cannot even read.

Here is an e-mail I got from the school districr:

Good evening VCUSD parents and guardians, I’m writing on behalf of the Superintendent and Governing Board of the Vallejo City Unified School District. The Superintendent and Board members join teachers, administrators, classified staff, and parents across California in inviting you to show your support for no more State cuts to public education. There are two specific ways in which you can help this week. The first is to call our local legislators and urge them to let their fellow legislators know that schools and children have suffered enough and that it is essential that the tax extension measures be passed. The second is to deliver your message in person by joining one of the Statewide rallies that will take place this Friday, May 13. There will be two buses leaving Friday afternoon from the Jesse Bethel High School parking lot—the first bus will leave at 3:30 pm to take supporters to a rally for public education in San Francisco. The second bus will leave at 4:00 pm for a rally in Sacramento. If you’d like to join the rally buses, please call 556.8921, ext. 50102 to reserve a seat. There is no charge for the bus. Once again, that number is 556.8921, ext. 50102.

Thank you and good night.

Why is it that anyone that was ever within 100 yards of MLK gets to spew out any amount of crap they want and have no one in the media ever raise an eyebrow? Sorry. Rhetorical question.

Talk about religion as the refuge of a scoundrel. I wonder if this “reverend” gets religion over the wanton slaughter of unborn children? Even, the disproportionately large numbers of black unborn children being murdered. I suspect not. Another race-hustling poverty pimp doing quite well personally as he works for the “massahs” betraying his own people and keeping them ignorant while claiming “holy” motives.

I have often wondered why Ubama never became a “reverend” like the rest of his “community organizer” brethren, from Jesse Jackson to Al Sharpton, et al.
