As soon as today employees of the Office of Management and Budget will file a petition to unionize...
Peter Winch, deputy director of field services and education for the American Federation of Government Employees confirmed to ABC News that his organization, which is affiliated with the AFL-CIO, has been meeting with employees of the OMB in the past few months ...
Enough employees more than 30% -- are interested for a union to be formed, he said. The union would be for mid- and lower-level employees.
Winch said that while the employees generally like their work at OMB, even with long hours and working on weekends, there have been reorganizations they would have liked to have had more voice over.
The next step will be for the employees to file a petition for an election with the Federal Labor Relations Authoritys Washington DC regional office. That filing could come as soon as today though the move could come on Monday.

Fire them and start over.
If they do then let them go on strike forever without pay.
If Islamic terrorists ever unionize, we’re doomed!
Pretty soon the Gov. Employee Unions will be holding American Taxpayers hostage with their demands for more and more.
Can you imagine how arrogant they will be if they don’t have to suffer consequences for providing false or incomplete info to the APeople.
And guess what, where will Congressional oversight be? NON-existent.
This will guaranty it gets filled with liberal dead wood.
This bunch of slugs in the WH would unionize the US military if they thought they could pull it off.
Obama administration is a strong supporter of the right of workers to organize...
For what is another story.
Organizing against their bosses: us. Trying to extract more from their greedy bastard employers: us. And us will just stand by and take it as usual.
“Pretty soon the Gov. Employee Unions will be holding American Taxpayers hostage with their demands for more and more.”
Pretty soon? We’re a little past that phase aren’t we?
Totally worthless department. Dump it!! Make congress do its job!! Quit spending our money!!!
Yeah, now there's a good reason to be unionized and steal more taxpayer dollars. And of course "management" in this case could care less about saving the "company" money. No wonder they are all for it.
Oh hell no!
They already are holding us hostage.
They got one of their top community organizers in the Oval Office who pushed through a $750 B package which served mostly to buttress tax-payer funded jobs, rather than being used to stimulate jobs in the private sector.
Then they got their top guy to push through nationalized healthcare to extort even more money from the private sector.
We were held hostage...we had no say while the taxpayer-funded citizens pushed this stuff through.
