[Only one defense will work against a SWAT team and I'm not posting it here.]

The Jamaicans in the South Bronx used to reinforce their apartments with steel cages. These cages would be built in pieces at a fabrication shop then assembled inside the dwelling with bolts and nuts. When the cops confronted these fortified apartments they were forced to cut their way inside using mobile wielding rigs, power saws or hydraulic jacks like “Jaws of Life.” The drug dealer would usually have enough time to incinerate his product and other evidence.

"The state has no power over an honest man"

That's not true. Rather than me citing a few of the hundreds of thousands of examples that belie that claim why don't you cite three?

Um, I see my hands, I think Navy Patriot is making the point Ayn Rand does here in Atlas Shrugged:

"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against… We’re after power and we mean it… There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers… and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with." (Emphasis added.)

Your accounting differs from what I've read:

The police spokesman only claimed the vehicles were equipped with sirens and lights, no claim to them being on. Pima SWAT arrives with sirens and lights on all vehicles

The police spokesman stated the normal procedure is to knock and announce, no claim this was done. SWAT claims after knocking for 15 seconds and announcing

Semper BS!

No, when one makes the point that the state has no power over an honest man he is not making the point that there is no way to rule an innocent man. Honest and innocent are different. Being honest is a decision you make. Whether your behavior is innocent or criminal is a decision the state makes.

The OP averred the state has no power over an honest man. That is absolutely and demonstrably false. Isn't it?

We need to end ‘no knock’ raides in *all* cases except for hostage situations.

I disagree. We need to end no-knock raids period.
If it's something where serving a warrant would get people hurt (the common excuse for warrantless/no-knock), IMO, the proper response would be the militia: the citizens themselves armed.

The violence done to our rights and the constitution is far greater than what could ever be done by the slim possibility of someone flushing the evidence or even getting away.

Very much agreed.

>Class IV armor is advertised as being capable of stopping a round of .30-06 blacktip. But all bets are off when the second one hits.

Good to know; how does it fare against 12ga 1.75oz slugs?

>Class IV armor is expensive and uncommon. Most SWAT teams are equipped with III or IIIA, which is more or less useless against AP ammo.

Also good to know.

>Anyone not presenting a written copy of a search warrant for my inspection prior to entry ad best be wearing something that can stop a Winchester 300 magnum with a 200 grain nozzler.

All of these posts make me laugh. You'll never have a chance to point or shoot anything. A SWAT team prepares for exactly that. Only one defense will work against a SWAT team and I'm not posting it here.

So said Lt. Michael O'Connor, "Those are very specific cases when it's a no-knock warrant. This was not a no-knock warrant. This case was, we came in very high profile, lights and sirens. We go to the door, we pound on the door. We wait approximately 15 seconds. If no one answers the door, we breach the door with a heavy tool and open the door."

Something bothered me about this so I went back to find a thread about the Marine being killed by Sheriff Dupnik's SWAT unit.

As the quote you captured above states:

This was not a no-knock warrant. This case was, we came in very high profile, lights and sirens. We go to the door, we pound on the door. We wait approximately 15 seconds. If no one answers the door, we breach the door with a heavy tool and open the door.

In other words they go in very, very loudly. As much to stun the people inside with noise and keep them from organizing any sort of defense or escape.

And yet O'Connor goes on to say that when the door was breached they found Jose Guerena crouched down, pointing an AR-15 at them and in the midst of all the mind-numbing noise of the sirens, the breaching party already firing as they go inside, etc., the SWAT team supposedly heard Jose Guerena say, "I have something for you!"

A flat-out lie. Lt O'Connor and Sheriff Dupnik need to be relieved of duty until this investigation is complete.

1) This idiot sheriff needs to be dragged from office
2) the officer in command should fired and possibly prosecuted
3) the entire force should undergo immediate re-training on tactics and the constitution

They need more time to dig up dirt on the victim, questionable stuff that they’ll dump on the press right before the hearing.
