And what’s the end result? Obama’s ratings are going up.
I think we need another Trump thread.
I know folks will give me a hard time over this, but I half-expected McCain to be back in it, saying the American public now knows he would have been better.
I know, I know..., but this guy’s ego is mammoth. Look at the way he flaps him gums on issues of the day, totally unrelated to his own tasks as Senator.
Of course backing Obama on a number of issues hasn’t helped him any. Thank heaven!
Give it up. Trump had no bearing on that. You got snookered by a flim-flam man.
Really? You seem offended that I insinuated Trump “trumped” Obama. So here you go. Here’s your chance to defend your boy Barack.
Tell us how your man (Barry) was the hero of the century in killing OBL. And make us believe that Trump had nothing to do with this. While your at it - tell of Obama’s greatness in taking out Osama so as to not interfere with the Royal Wedding.
I have found that you can lead them to crow - but you cannot make them eat it! ;)
Thank God. The joke is over.
res ipsa loquitur (not directed at you of course ;)).
They're not even in the way.
The only way Newt is in the way, is as a tripping hazard. The man has no chance -- his candidacy is an exercise in narcissism. He's Clinton without the charm; Obama without the melanin.
As for Romney .... well, the man has had the field pretty much to himself for a long time, and has failed (like everybody else) to get big-name/big-money support for his campaign. There's something about him that gives him a very real "ick" factor. He's going nowhere.
They're not without their uses, though. Both of them are articulate and can be engaging speakers at times. It would be good if by their presence they could force real debate on various important issues. But the silliness of modern presidential politics is such that I won't hold my breath.
I knew this announcement was coming the moment he started throwing “F” bombs in public speeches left and right a few weeks ago.
I just hope he does not change his mind and then go third party...
The Donald was never a conservative evangelist, he was only a political opportunist unprepared for serious politics.
...and the “shilling for Hillary” crowd was especially off the mark.
But MINE was first!!!!!
I’m really surprised by all of the Freepers who are ecstatic every time a higher end possible candidate decides not to run. We will be left with a few fringe candidates none of whom have a chance in hell to win.
Cain? Yeah right.....that’ll never happen.
Palin is doomed. Damn the press probably has another 200 negative stories on her in the can.
My opinion is that the more higher profile candidate in the race, the better. I think the huckster was at least a high profile candidate...not that I would have voted for him.
LOL - thanks!
Thanks for the qualifier.
"NBC's Contingency Plans In Case Of NFL Strike, Trump Presidential Run: Reality On Sunday, Recasting Donald On 'Apprentice'http://www.deadline.com/2011/05/nbcs-contingency-plans-in-case-of-nfl-strike-trump-presidential-run-reality-on-sunday-recasting-donald-on-apprentice/

NBC has both Sunday Night Football and Celebrity Apprentice on its just-revealed schedule for next season despite the NFL football season being in limbo because of the current players lockout and Celebrity Apprentice star Donald Trump mulling a presidential bid. During a conference call today, NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt expressed hope that both football and The Donald will be back but also said that the network is working on contingency plans if that doesn't happen.
"Certainly were hoping that he will be back with us," Greenblatt said of Trump. But if he isn't, "we will bring the show back and have someone else at the head of the boardroom table. ... (Celebrity Apprentice) is too strong a franchise for us not to consider that." Greenblatt wouldn't discuss whom they have in mind as a replacement for Trump, only saying that it would be someone who is "confident and galvanizing.""
May mitt be next!
Because of Sarah Palin's ability to raise money and galvanize the base, the game changes when she decides whether she's running herself or whether she endorses someone else.
If she really wants to see Zero become a one-and-done, Sarah really needs to s*** or get off the pot.
See, here: #35
THis was just a formality. Trump was never running, and he was never a Republican.
He did the job he was hired to do - made a fuss over the Birth Certificate and took the eyes of everyone off the economy and the shenanigans of the admin for awhile.
The whole thing was a scam and a set up from the get go to allow the WH to ‘diffuse’ the whole Birther argument.
Yes, please do tell us how much you’ve loved Obama since 1998. /s
Good grief. The birthers’ collective brain bucket done sprung another leak.
I know, that’s why I’m sticking with this one! I still think we need at least 10 more. /s
No more than of a stunt or fraud than any of the others. It was an honest statement. He took the Republicans to school on how to beat Obama. I hope at least one of them was paying attention.
But MINE was first!!!!!
Yes it was. And within SECONDS there were other Trump threads. Also posted in Breaking News. Poor mods. They will be cleaning up the Breaking News sidebar all day.
I’m on the record for stating there will be 20 “Trmp is not running” threads today.
Cool, now we can return to the slew of Politically Correct candidates lacking a backbone who will let the facist muslim continue to destroy the country uninterrupted.....
I didn’t want Trump to be President, but I DID want him to continue to play Fullback....
Another example of posting without reading.
For whatever his motivations, Trump did us a great service.
Trump simultaneously forced Obama to look weak and petty, and blew himself to smithereens in the process.
Now Obama has lost his best weapon. He wasted a massive credibility bomb against a liberal real estate mogul who in better times would have been his ally.
The birthers are neutralized. Some will cling on to The Truth forever, but as a political force, they’re history. They can be openly ignored by the GOP candidates now, who no longer have to endure their toxic litmus test.
Best of all, none of the conservative contenders got their hands dirty at all. It’s like they just sat back and watched their enemies light each others houses on fire. There’s been a lot of self-immolation on our side too, but that’s also been clearing out a lot of the riff-raff.
Obama is down, Trump is out, the birthers are shrinking, and our candidates look bigger and saner in comparison.
I may have missed something, but I don’t think there’s a single down side to how this played out.
Not surprising, but he sure did add color to an otherwise totally drab line up. Between The Donald and Huckabee pulling out of the race, and Newt’s going off track, it does force Sarah Palin to set up her exploratory committee or announce she’s out for ‘12.
I just hope Trump keeps speaking out on the economy, jobs, etc. He can keep the heat on Team Obama without being in the fray.
Huckabee out. Trump out. So will Palin be next?
Told you so..right from the start.
He was messing with the usurper.
I don’t give a care how long ANYONE has been a FReeper. If they are an anti-birther, they are an Obama-bot stooge as far as I’m concerned.
I don’t like Trump. Who does? But for some FReepers to base their anti-Trump vitriol on how he was damaging Obama is messed up.
The whole thing was a scam and a set up from the get go to allow the WH to diffuse the whole Birther argument."
Actually, Barry's eligibility issue really hasn't been "diffused" completely:
"Gallup: Most still question Obama's birth
Less than 1/2 of Americans say prez 'definitely' born in U.S.
The White House called it "proof positive" of Barack Obama's Hawaiian birth but there still are significant numbers of Americans tens of millions in fact who don't believe the online image of a "Certificate of Live Birth" represents the full and open truth.
According to a new Gallup Poll reported by USA Today, only 47 percent of those surveyed say they think Obama "definitely" was born in the United States.
An additional 18 percent say he "probably was."
Jerome Corsis new book, "Wheres the Birth Certificate?", is now available for immediate shipping, autographed by the author, only from the WND Superstore
But the poll, taken May 5-8 of 1,018 adults with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points, shows that 5 percent say he definitely was born elsewhere, another 8 percent say he probably was born elsewhere and 20 percent say they don't know enough to say. "
It remains to be seen, if Trump now goes after Barry's clearly fraudulent LFBC...perhaps even going after the actual "natural Born Citizen" issue in that Barry was a born multi-national.
Now that Trump is clear of the (R) primaries...he can bring those issues up since he's had his foot in that door...and the state run media would not be able to tie it to the (R) race nearly as much as they did previously.
More like how to NOT beat Obama. Yeah, that BC issue really dinged Obama, didn't it?
Uh, no, it didn't.
That was me.
Trump statement shortly before ‘Ben Laden found and killed’:
‘They know where Ben Laden is.
How could you lose a 6 ft Arab on dialysis?’
Kinda made it necessary for the Marxist/Muslim usurper to
go after Ben Laden now instead of using it to his advantage during the 2012 elections.
Hi pissant! See you have a new name.....
Trump is not a conservative. He recently said that he was a Christian, and he said that he was pro-life, and he said that he was a Republican, but from his past record, it’s extremely doubtful if any of that was true.
He did a great job bringing the birth issue to the fore. At first I thought he might be doing it for hillary.
But then we had Obie’s charade about a new COLB from Hawaii, and then we had the bin Ladin affair take the birth issue right off the news.
So, there’s at least some possibility that Trump was working for Obama the whole time. By raising the BC issue, he made it possible for Obie to produce his new COLB after refusing to do so for about three years. It gave Obie a convenient excuse for finally producing it, without people asking the puzzling question, Why now?
Then, blam, bin Ladin hits the news. What a coincidence! Could it be that the two things were orchestrated to happen at the same time? They’ve known where bin Ladin was for months, but they decided to do it in conjunction with the birth certificate. Or maybe they told Trump it was time to start his act.
The new COLB is an obvious forgery. Will Trump say anything about that? I doubt it. Not if he was working for Obama all along.
Job done. Back to business.
All this is speculative, of course. But let’s see if Trump has anything more to say about the birth certificate, in particular the blatant fact that the new COLB is a forgery.

Really? The subject is Trump is not running. Perhaps you can link me to a previous thread. Since I appear to be guilty of “posting without reading”.
"Back to reality: Obama poll rating falls below 50 per cent as 'Bin Laden bounce' wears off
President Barack Obama's approval rating has slipped to 48 per cent - ending the so called 'Osama bounce'.
The President had enjoyed a near record high of 51 per cent in the days following the death of Osama bin Laden on May 2.
But with many Americans focused on rising gas prices, high unemployment and a troubled economy, Obama has been swiftly brought back to reality with a bump according to the latest set of Gallup poll numbers.
According to pollsters, the economy is top priority for Americans, with three in four naming some type of economic issue as the 'most important problem' facing the country today.
General economic concerns occupy 35 per cent of respondents, while 22 per cent are focused on unemployment.
The news comes as the President announced a U-turn in his previously cautions oil drilling rhetoric.
On Saturday, the president outlined plans for what he called 'safe and responsible' drilling, with the emphasis on speeding up the leasing process for the Alaska National Petroleum Reserve.
He also plans to create better financial incentives in oil company leases, extending the leases for those in the Gulf of Mexico.
On top of this, the President also fast-tracked test exploration off the east coast in a bid to promote the possible exploitation of reserves there.
Just weeks after the President released his 'long-form' birth certificate, another recent poll suggests a sizeable minority of Americans still doubt he was born on U.S. soil.
According to Gallup, 47 per cent of Americans now say he was definitely born in the U.S., up from 38 per cent in April.
the poll also revealed that 18 per cent of Americans are still unsure about his country of birth, while 13 per cent say he was 'probably or definitely' born in another country.
Many people still don't think Barry is creadible...and that includes his clearly bogus LFBC.
You got it!
Totally agree. If the second BC which obama himself released, is by some chance proven to be a forgery, he’s finished. I for one am not giving up. There are some credible people out there still working on this
See my post 90. If I’m wrong, maybe Trump will speak up again. But I strongly doubt it.
Let me clarify that I was referencing the duplicate threads, not your post. Sorry I wasn’t clearer.
That’s OK. As I take a second and third look at your reply, I see I jumped to the wrong conclusion.
