What worries me isn’t Iran or Venezuela’s current technology, or further development thereof, but rather the prospect of Iran/Venezuela acquiring a more capable design from another country by what ever means. They could do so rather abruptly.

I found a story from Jerusalem Post which didn’t have good news. Old article but said Iran got some missiles from North Korea which would have the range to hit the US. Plus their ability to put small payloads in orbit means they could put a very small warhead (300 Kg) on Washington.

I checked Google earth. Its 1800 km from Venz to the southern tip of the US. The above article says those NK weapons have ranges of 2500 -3500KM.

Exactly. Once the bases are built, nothing exists to prevent a better class of missiles from being based there.

In any case, its a provocation. A real attack would probably come in a container ship, maybe several container ships simultaneously. They are building these bases to rub our noses in it.
