At W.H., a tale of two disclosures

The White House released financial disclosure forms on Monday for President Obama and Vice President Biden, showing nothing in the way of conflicts of interest, which the documents are mostly intended to illuminate.

But the forms do highlight the very different financial circumstances between Obama and his No. 2.

It’s not surprising that Obama’s documents show that his sources of income are largely the revenue from his books “Dreams of My Father,” “The Audacity of Hope” and a recently published children’s book, “Of Thee I Sing.” The first family has a sizable amount in savings, investments and pension funds. The Obamas hold between $1 million and $5 million in treasury notes and bills, and tens of thousands of dollars in other accounts. Sasha and Malia have between $100,000 and $250,000 stashed away in college savings accounts.

Biden’s documents, on the other hand,

It is disgusting how such unproductive losers accumulate so much money. Grifters.

Hard to believe that two books read only by liberals with no brains could make that much money for the pResident.

Selling books and getting exorbitant advances for books has become the preferred way for money to be funneled to political creeps. Remember, clintoon got a several million dollar advance. Also, “supporters” buy thousands which they then shred or burn. Corrupt. Soulless.

One would venture to say that there are a LOT of "liberals with no brains." Sad to say, there are also many liberals who have brains -- but prefer emotion over thought. "Time" magazine identified and marketed itself to this audience through TV ads back in the 70s.

Well the document I’ll be curious to see is the Nomination Certification signed by Nancy Pelosi. I’m anxious to see if she will be willing to perjure herself again this year.

The most amazing thing is how little Biden has accumulated after forty years in six figure service to the state of Delaware. How possibly could this imbaacile not have a significantly large amount of money saved. How many people make a slary of $125-$175 k for forty years and have no money?

They don’t call him the stupidest man in the Senate for nothing.

Ordinarily, I would agree with you. But in Biden's case, why should he bother to save for the future? Based on 39 years (and counting) at the Senate trough, Biden is guaranteed a federal pension of well over $150,000 per year for life -- adjusted each year for inflation. How much capital would one have to accumulate to guarantee such security?

It thus appears that Joe Biden is not the spendthrift fool -- we are the spendthrift fools for hiring and paying him so much!

I nevr voted for him, nor would I. I suspect that you are of the same opinion.

Of course I never voted for Dennis Kucinich and he has been my congresscritter for several years.

Even with his connections and influence he’s too stupid to cash in.

I am not talking about cashing in, I am talking about the standard idea that you save at least a small portion of your income. Between his wife and himself over twenty years they should have at least high six figures saved. The fact that they do not should disqualify them from any office. They are irresponsible with their own money why would they be different with ours?
