Remember what Alan Simpson said after Obama’s disastrous, demagogic, compromise-destroying attack on Paul Ryan a few weeks ago? He knew he’d just seen any chance of a deal between the Republican and Democratic leaderships go up in smoke. Quote:

“Just pray for the Gang of Six,” he said. “You guys your age, keep praying.”

What happens if the Gang of Six fails? Mr. Simpson was asked.

“Guys like you will be picking grit with the chickens when you are 65,” he replied.

Start boning up on grit-picking, my friends:

Coburn said that anyone involved with an abortion should go to prison; hardly a moderate.

A less than fiscally conservative social con.

Coburn allowing himself to be used like this, along with his "crossing the aisle" silliness, has caused me to lose a lot of respect for him.

Please GOP, grow some brains, play hardball, and learn how to express conservative principles in an articulate manner. Stop with the Kumbaya already, it's an embarrassment.

Because of three groups of people and five tendencies all too familiar to the founding fathers:

Say, this is pretty good... did you write this?

The depraved selfishness of of politicians on full display.

What they should have been discussing together is how to educate and truly inform the citizens how dire our circumstances are- and then begin the task of actually cutting spending, drastically.

Yes. I tried to boil down everything I've read about politics and human nature.

GREAT song...and songwriter - we just need to eliminate the “lawyers” part.

Coburn ran on "term limits" & now he has been in D.C. for close to 20 years.

Coburn was in the House from 1994-2000. He left as he honored his term limit pledge. He's in his second and last term as Senator (2004-2016), because he term limited himself, again.

He's one of the few who has honored his pledge.

Group 3 needs to a have a tax revolt of biblical proportions to deny both group 1 and 2 of everything WE work for.

Starve the beasts.

Here’s a better song- and a kick butt rock tune-amazingly, from the Eagles:

GET OVER IT
I turn on the tube and what do I see
A whole lotta people cryin’ ’don’t blame me’
They point their crooked little fingers ar everybody else
Spend all their time feelin’ sorry for themselves
Victim of this, victim of that
Your momma’s too thin; your daddy’s too fat

Get over it
Get over it
All this whinin’ and cryin’ and pitchin’ a fit
Get over it, get over it

You say you haven’t been the same since you had your little crash
But you might feel better if I gave you some cash
The more I think about it, old billy was right
Let’s kill all the lawyers, kill ’em tonight
You don’t want to work, you want to live like a king
But the big, bad world doesn’t owe you a thing

Get over it
Get over it
If you don’t want to play, then you might as well split
Get over it, get over it

It’s like going to confession every time I hear you speak
You’re makin’ the most of your losin’ streak
Some call it sick, but I call it weak

You drag it around like a ball and chain
You wallow in the guilt; you wallow in the pain
You wave it like a flag, you wear it like a crown
Got your mind in the gutter, bringin’ everybody down
Complain about the present and blame it on the past
I’d like to find your inner child and kick it’s little ass

Get over it
Get over it
All this bitchin’ and moanin’ and pitchin’ a fit
Get over it, get over it

Get over it
Get over it
It’s gotta stop sometime, so why don’t you quit
Get over it, get over it

We as a people allow ourselves, through our govt. choices to empower the whiners, complainers and victim class. Pretty soon, everybody is on the bandwagon and on the teat.
Jefferson wrote about this. And the progressives brought us here, to control us all- even the ones with productive businesses. Green is the new Red. Socialist Security- thanks FDR!

Outstanding.

I just forwarded that to some of my more politically active friends encouraging them to forward it as well.

This needs to be disseminated far and wide.

I don’t think coburn quit.

seriously does the MSM tell us who is having lunch?

they allow the WH to skirt disclosure rules with off grounds meetings.

Coburn is trying to create the illusion of being with the tea party majority of the usa.
