Yesterday, the Louisiana Senate unanimously passed NRA-backed Senate Bill 39. Sponsored by state Senators Eric LaFleur (D-28) and Neil Riser (R-32), this bill would clarify that Louisianans may purchase a long gun in any state, and allow a citizen of any other state to purchase a long gun in Louisiana, so long as both states allow such purchases. SB 39 has been assigned to the House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice.
TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Government; News/Current Events; US: Louisiana
KEYWORDS: banglist; la; rifle; shotgun
We need to remove all of these hindrences on commerce between citizens of the states.

If they hadn't put that bit of garbage in there, it would be a good bill. The above phrase is a weasel word to make sure the law will essentially have no effect.
