"In the wake of 9/11, Dennis Miller made a pretty sharp move to the right."

Really? I've always pegged him as conservative/libertarian in his views and comedy - but unafraid to take-on whoever/whatever is in office / in the news

In his own words, Miller has repeatedly acknowledged having a conservative awakening in the aftermath of 9/11. Since then, he's been extremely active and vocal on soldier support issues.

Based on my personal observations of him on SNL and the few times I caught his HBO show, I think he had some liberal leanings, but did try to assess individual events and people pretty objectively, but there were some times he took some pretty cheap shots at Reagan and conservatives decades back.

I wish he'd come around to the right on the issue of life like he has on a lot of other topics. I've heard him struggle with it a few times on his show. It's as though deep down, he's intelligent enough to know life begins at conception, but there's still something (whether it's a twisted libertarian sense of 'choice', or the opinions of the celebrity circles he moves in) that keeps him from fully dealing with the matter on an intellectual basis.

Dennis Miller since 9/11: Big fan of Bush’s war on terror, big fan of waterboarding, despises Nancy Pelosi, etc.

Excerpt from one segment on BOR show: “Dennis Miller defended the practice of waterboarding terrorists to save the lives of Americans, calling the technique “heaven-sent.” Miller: “Something that takes somebody who’s willing to strap a bomb on and yet freaks them out to the point where they’ll tell you where the next bomb is by pouring water down their nose and they don’t even die, I think, wow, this is heaven-sent.” He also heaped praise on President Bush for “keeping this country safe in the interim seven years” since the 9/11 attacks.

Miller: “That’s what I admire about him. He’s willing to be hated for the rest of his life to do the right thing. And I just want to look in the camera. This is the last time I’ll be on this show when he’s my President and my Commander-in-Chief and say, ‘Thank you, sir. I feel privileged that you were the President during this time in American history.’”

Martin Short is hilarious.

He is a very fine fellow, I must say. :-)

Like him in small doses. Sketch comedy, supporting roles.

2 hours of him in anything, is wearing.

The Ed Grimley character was his best. I remember an SCTV skit where he was waiting for Christmas. I must’ve seen it 20 times. Also, “What ever Happened to Baby Ed” from SCTV.

It’s called growing up. I had to do it too. The only difference was that I did it during my 19 to 24 years. Maybe if I had much more money and surrounded myself by libtards I might have held on to the age of 30.

His Jiminy Glick character was cute, too. This is a video of Jiminy Glick interviewing Dennis Miller:

Marty did a really funny song long ago, based on Neil Diamond's "America", but it was about Canadians.

I can't remember most of it, and am too lazy to search around for a link, but the funniest part was:

Norm McDonald him I like

kd lang a great big . . . star

Of course I remember who you are today! I would have remembered yesterday too, had I saw you, which I didn’t, and certainly not on a disreputable thread about exploding watermelons. Oh my, no.
