SKOLKOVO, Russia (AFP) President Dmitry Medvedev warned Wednesday Russia could pull out a new nuclear disarmament treaty and enter a new Cold War with the West if the two sides failed to agree on a new missile defence shield.
Medvedev told reporters that the United States' decision to push ahead with the European shield despite Russia's objections will force Moscow "to take response measures -- something that we would very much rather not do."

Time to play hardball with these clowns and quit letting them win in the media.
Go for it.
Drill, baby drill would sink these bastards.
Please Dmitri dont throw us into the briar patch.
Actually, I'll wait to see how the administration reacts to this threat before drawing any conclusions.
Who is Jarret?
All dem presidents' foreign policy team is made up of Realists and Liberal Interventionists. Usually, the dem prez will have a Liberal Interventionist(like Hillary) serving as Sec of State. Usually, the dem prez will have a Realist serving as NSA and Obama first had Gen Jones, a politically unaffiliated Realist, serving as NSA and he was replaced by Donilon, a dem Realist. Usually, the dem prez will have a Realist serving as SecDef and Obama has had Gates(a republican Realist) in that job and he will be replaced by Panetta(a dem Realist)
Generally speaking, the Realists have had more influence on Obama's foreign policy than the Liberal Interventionists, except for Libya.
This news aligns with the Russian position somewhat, doesn’t it?
U.S. Senators Press Pentagon on Russo-Iran Missile Work:
How’d the last cold war work out for your country, Dmitry?
“Howd the last cold war work out for your country, Dmitry?”
There is a communist in the White House...sooo me guesss... they won?
>>>>>>>>Howd the last cold war work out for your country, Dmitry?>>>>>>>>>
He is Reagan this time and he has a progressive-communist opponent 0Gorby in the White House.
US is waging useless pointless wars, debt is growing, economy and society are broken by socialists.
10s US~ 80s SU
In order to become a 90s Russia, US only has to default on debt and to start printing 10,000 notes worth a couple burgers.
If one thinks the mighty may not fall like that just look at the Soviet Union which seems like an Obamas model.
In 1989 it still was a # 2 Worlds economy and in 1994 it already had an economic power of a Butler county.
US is very different from real socialist state but you can destroy it too if you do it too hard.
The Soviet Union had, at its greatest height, an economy the size of France.
1 United States (GNP) $5,233,300.00
2 Soviet Union (GNP) $2,659,500.00
3 Japan (GNP) $1,914,100.00

The CIA was just as clueless as we were on the USSR’s economic strength at the time. Those numbers were from the USSR themselves, and were used for propaganda.
Again, the USSR had a smaller economy than France did at the time.
It would look like this
and so on
Oh, and the Russian economy is in better shape now than it was ever during Soviet times.
It is surely smaller than Soviet but much healthier.
It is doing better than American as well, just look at the ruble and their stock market.
I think the numbers are correct but you can’t judge a command economy using the same terms as free nation’s economy.
So you are right and wrong at the same same.
They really had a #2 economy but it had too much toxic assets, so it was really in a class of France or UK.
In the past it usually didn't matter what the agreement was. We would follow it and they would cheat. Once under either Reagan or Bush, can't remember, they agreed to destroy some of their missiles but then said they couldn't afford it. We then sent them two billion a year for two or three years for that purpose but they used it for something else. I don't think those missiles were ever destroyed yet we are still making deals with them.
