Excellent speech on Senate floor by Senator Coburn on oil and gas prices and lack of knowledge by our Congress. He also addresses government regulation and rips the Obama administration.
VIDEO 10:30 minutes
H/T to blueyon for the heads up.
Ping to watch later. Thanks for posting.
I am pretty well disgusted with what I am hearing on both sides of the aisle because the real problem is not the price of oil. The real problem is the price of the dollar, and if we will fix that, we will fix tons of things that will help our economy. But we are recalcitrant to the point we will not do the things we need to do.Pretty good read, all around.
Coburn for president?
Thanks for the link!
Thanks. Just watched and sent.
God bless, Senator Coburn.

This is probably the best speech I have ever watched on C-SPAN.
The problem is that Coburn is attempting to educate people who either don’t want to become educated or are simple to stupid to become educated.
Still, it’s refreshing to hear the truth spoken in the Senate.
simple to = simply too
[Preview, what’s that?]
Every interview I’ve seen with the guy, he is smart, plain spoken and brutally honest. And he hates DC.
I would love to see him enter the race.

Coburn would be much better than Rick Perry at entering the race. I saw a townhall meeting by way of CSpan where his kindness labeled Nancy Pelosi as, “...she’s a nice lady”, which didn’t go over very well with his audience but he won his re-elect with 65% of the vote. He tried to pal up Obama when a senator for all the good it did, but now that he has been b!&@+ slapped on more than one occasion he has been a better steward of his outreach to the marxists.
That organization of congressmen/women who pray together held up some fallen colleague who had to resign, and msm has tried to use that against Coburn and the others. I think that is the worst they have dug up on him, that he is a devout evangelical.
Coburn talks the talk. When it came down to acting he voted FOR the bailout. I don’t know, I’d just like to see more out of him than always saying the right things. I don’t think he’s full of crap I just think he’s too enamored with the process. You’ll often see him and my other senator being one of only a hand full of senators voting against something. I think that’s somewhat self serving though.
I guess I feel like he doesn’t hate DC. He still thinks the solution to our problem lies in DC. If he brought his plain spoken leadership back home, and helped formulate a state based opposition to DC, we (Oklahoma) could be prosperous. Instead, he’s happy being the lone voice of reason in an environment that will never take his side.
Thank you! What a great address by Sen. Coburn.
I run hot and luke warm on Tom. I think he needs to choose his friends and affiliations more carefully. I think he is like some other people that appear to be nice, he is gullible. I also think he is a sharp fellow who understands what it takes to make the world run and what makes a lot of people tick.
The speech is one any of us who live in the business world and work for a living could make and that does not make it any less true. True but not exceptional in the large scheme... exceptional only because it was made in the Spinate.
Tom has it right though... they have quit caring about what is good for the country and instead constantly care about what is good for them. If he hates DC we have at least one thing firmly in common.
I’ve wondered for decades now if Oklahoma could ever be truly prosperous or if it were so if it would still be Oklahoma? A builder I know says that it never has gotten really bad in Oklahoma because it is never really that great. Even at that though it is good enough for him to have a nice ranch, drive nice trucks, take nice vacations, pay his hands pretty well (by the looks of the parking lot and their houses). I think things being good enough is what makes Okies appreciate things more and what makes them rely on one another for a hand up and not a hand out when you get away from Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Lawton. ‘Course, you could do away with all three cities and the best part of Oklahoma would be left, the land and the people who work the land.
Frankly, I like Oklahoma just like it is. I wouldn’t like it to get any more prosperous or populated than it is now and it would be better yet if a few people would pack their crap and move back south of the Red and the Rio Grande.
I thought it was a great speech he made! I was in a hurry this morning and tried to find but could not...I commented on it in another thread. This afternoon when I saw your ping, I was so excited to see your post. Wonderful job Freeper for paying attention to the little comments in Freeperland and running with it! Hats off to your wonderful Freeper skills!!
Ron Wyden from Oregon looks like a greasy rat.
Watching the fiscal morons that make up our Senate grill the oil company executives last week was a real treat. I never knew Jay Rockefeller was so ignorant, actually, stupid.
Thanks for the link to C-SPAN.
