Another Republican operative said he had spoken with an old friend of Gingrich's in the South who had been planning a fundraiser for the campaign.

There were 18 co-chairs for the event until Gingrich's appearance on "Meet the Press" Sunday, where he labeled Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-Wisc.) proposed budget "radical" and "right-wing social engineering."

"He said like 13 of them dropped off within 24 hours of 'Meet the Press,'"

He is a global warming nut, support farm subsidies (pandering Iowa) and opposes spending cuts. Oh, and he was cheating his wife.

Strong platform perhaps, but wrong party.

Years ago, I kinda thought Newt has his act together, bright individual, good possible presidential candidate....until!!!

I watched a video of Newt, down in Mexico, speaking fluent spanish, promising the Mexicans at this particular gathering, immigration reform.

Woop...der it is. Done.

Since then, I've seen more evidence that Ol Newt's not what he appears to be. In fact, looks like he’za a big ol globalist pos.

Personally, I think all those who are running who have run and lost in the past should drop out now. NO more Newt’s, NO more Ronmey’s, NO more Paul’s, NO more Santorum’s and probably No Palins. We need a candidate that can fire up not only the Conservatives, but also the Independents. None of these folks can do that. I thought that Herman Cain and Gary Johnson were the clear winners from the SC debate.

Gingrich an Obama suffer from the same malady. They both confidently believe that the force and power of their words along with their superior intellect will alone be enough to convince anyone to ‘see things their way’. FAIL.

Without a doubt, Hannity will be the last Republican in the country to realize Newt’s campaign is finished — as it should be.

Newt on Greta was like he was reading from the wrong script. At the end of the show, when he invited her to come out to Iowa and see his huge adoring crowds, it reminded me of the scene where Zoolander takes the stage and begins his cocky victory speech, without listening to the announcer or realizing that he actually lost.

Greta’s poker face was great, but you could tell she was biting her tongue to keep from laughing. She clearly though he was being ridiculous, but she was as professional and polite as can be. Even hopeful that he’d grab one of the lifelines she threw him and try to pull himself out of the pit. Instead, all he threw out of the ditch was more dirt.

I’ve begged Newt to do the right thing, and stay out of this. People aren’t in the mood for establishment addicts.

Newt needs to make a bold move NOW to save his campaign. Sunday he should announce that John McCain will be his running mate. That move should swell his support beyond the pale. The MM’s should sing his and John's praise 24/7.

Announce the Gingrich McCain ticket now. Don't wait Newt. Be Bold.

We should all be grateful that Gingrich revealed himself now and not after he sucked up valuable resources. Although, anyone that doesn’t know by now he’s a RINO is an idiot.

Oh, yeah, how could I have forgotten? There's probably a few more that came close to those three in destroying a campaign.
