NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- By now, you've probably heard of the religious group that's predicting the end of the world starts this weekend.
Harold Camping and his devoted followers claim a massive earthquake will mark the second coming of Jesus, or so-called Judgment Day on Saturday, May 21, ushering in a five month period of catastrophes before the world comes to a complete end in October.
At the center of it all, Camping's organization, Family Radio, is perfectly happy to take your money -- and in fact, received $80 million in contributions between 2005 and 2009. Camping founded Family Radio, a nonprofit Christian radio network based in Oakland, Calif. with about 65 stations across the country, in 1958.
But not even all of his own employees are convinced that the world is ending on Saturday.
In fact, many still plan on showing up at work on Monday.

It’s obvious that this guy is a nutter. No different than the other creepy people that predict the end of the world...usually in a nice book that can be purchased for $9.99 + S&H.
But thanks to the internet, his craziness got amplified to the point where some very weak-minded people, that otherwise would not have heard of this, may just do something really stupid on Saturday.
And I won!
Camping may be right for the wrong reasons.shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiachSince Obama is attempting to destroy YHvH's Israel,
American can expect YHvH's punishment in the form of:
floods, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornados.
Family Radio is almost entirely funded by donations, and brought in $18 million in contributions in 2009 alone.
I want to know who these stupid people are that would send their hard earned money to this fraud Camping. It is remarkable just how many people are so foolish as to fall for a con man like this.
Now that’s funny, I don’t care who y’are!
Sigh...I do get tired of explaining that not all Christians are end-times kooks. He will come when He comes, praise God.
Colonel, USAFR
All of the Family Radio money changers?
And one guy spent his entire life savings to publicize this non-event: $140,000
As for “global warming”, which the eco-cultists have renamed “climate change” (all that flooding, hmm) ironically enough this past yr has seemed colder than ever. Maybe by late June (here in the northeast) I’ll put in my air cond. and start wearing shorts. As I like to say, “Global warming? I’d love some, bring it on!”
Mark Steyn’s America Alone mentions the various predictions over the years, including “we will run out of oil by the 1980s” and how millions would starve and how in the 70s “global cooling” was all the rage. Well, maybe they were right about that...
I have a name for all these variations in temperature,
precipitation, etc. It’s called THE WEATHER. And the little fleas we are on this huge planet aren’t affecting it like they tell you.
I am tempted to ask Mr. Camping if he’d sell me his ministry, the radio station etc for a dollar, seeing as he won’t need it on the 22nd.
A Bilderberger?
He’d probably say most of us will be killed by the earthquakes and the station and its equipment will be demolished by it anyway...Camping, when asked where he will be on “May 22” by talk host Michael Smerconish: “I expect to be in heaven”
Family Radio? Is that the same as Family Life Radio? Wonder how many listeners were lost once this stuff started.?
I was just talking about Global cooling last night. It’s May 20 and feels like October 20 in Arizona.
Now why am I seeing in my mind’s eye a “Heaven’s Gate” type event staring Camping all of a sudden?
“Staring”?
Lol.. “Starring”.
Me and my typos...
